How do you become a dietitian in Nebraska?
To practice as a dietitian in Nebraska, you must obtain a license from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health. This requires completing an accredited didactic program in dietetics, finishing a supervised internship, and passing the Commission on Dietetic Registration credentialing exam to earn the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist designation. Once credentialed, you apply for a Nebraska dietitian license before practicing independently.
How much do dietitians make in Nebraska?

Which companies hire dietitians in Nebraska?
Companies currently hiring dietitians in Nebraska include Cascades Healthcare, Bryan Health, and Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Nebraska's large integrated health systems and long-term care networks tend to post the most consistent openings, particularly for clinical and renal nutrition specialists.
Which Nebraska cities have the most dietitian jobs?

Omaha leads because it anchors Nebraska's largest hospital systems and medical centers, Lincoln follows as the state capital with major academic and public health employers, and Kearney draws demand from regional medical facilities serving rural central Nebraska.
Are there remote dietitian jobs in Nebraska?
Yes, but they're limited. Most dietitian roles involve direct patient assessment and hands-on care that require on-site presence. The positions most likely to allow remote or telehealth work are community nutrition counseling, employee wellness consulting, and nutrition education roles.
How can I get hired as a dietitian in Nebraska with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for dietetic internship or new-graduate clinical nutrition positions at Nebraska Medicine, CHI Health, or Bryan Health, all of which periodically hire new Registered Dietitian Nutritionists for inpatient rotations. School nutrition coordinator roles with Lincoln Public Schools or Omaha Public Schools are another accessible entry point. Candidates who complete a Nebraska-approved supervised practice program and sit for the Commission on Dietetic Registration exam before applying move to the front of the line.
