Job Details
The Director of Recruitment at Thomas Jefferson University is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on recruitment strategies and tactics that create pipelines into Jefferson’s diverse portfolio of undergraduate and graduate programs. This position is focused on developing and nurturing partnerships and relationships that will support enrollment pathways; to that end, the Director will collaborate extensively with colleagues within enrollment management, partner institutions and corporations, affinity and influencer groups, and our internal administrative and academic partners.
Job Description
Essential Functions
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Partner Identification: establish a list of existing and potential partner institutions, corporations, and organizations that have constituents who would benefit from a Jefferson education.
- Partnership Development: work with internal and external stakeholders to explore and establish formal partnerships and informal relationships that will create enrollment pathways between our partners and the University.
- Partnership Management: ensure the successful implementation of agreements and strategies by nurturing and maintaining relationships with our partners.
- Website: ensure that our website is optimized to promote our partnerships and pipeline opportunities.
- Asset Development & Management: work with the Enrollment Strategy & Engagement team to develop effective and compelling assets associated with the partnerships and overall recruitment efforts.
- Reporting & Analysis: produce reports and insights related to recruitment scope of work; adjust strategies and tactics in response to data.
- Collaboration: work extensively with the Provost’s Office, Legal, academic partners, and enrollment management colleagues to ensure that agreements are well designed to meet the objectives of the university and are consistent with our policies.
- Staff Management: directly manage employees as assigned and/or support leadership in the oversight and mentorship of staff members within the team.
- Jefferson Enrollment Management (JEM) Responsibilities: the incumbent will contribute to efforts related to division planning, policy & procedure development, quality assurance & effectiveness, and budget & team management.
- Budget Management: manage funds allocated to area of responsibility.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree in Communications, MBA, Marketing, or Higher Education Leadership/Administration is strongly preferred
AND
Experience:
- 10+ years of professional experience, 4+ years of management/leadership experience
- Experience in an undergraduate and/or graduate admissions office is strongly preferred
- Experience using Slate by Technolutions experience is preferred
