E-3 Visa Business Development Professional Jobs
Business development professionals pursuing U.S. roles can use the E-3 visa to secure sponsorship without competing in the H-1B lottery. The E-3 is renewable in two-year increments with no cap, making it a stable path for Australians with a bachelor's degree and a qualifying job offer in a specialty occupation.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship in Business Development Professional
Frame your degree as a specialty match
Consular officers scrutinize whether your degree field directly supports the role. A commerce, marketing, or international business degree strengthens the specialty occupation case for business development far more than a general management qualification.
Target employers with active LCA filings
Focus on companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for business development or sales strategy roles. DOL's disclosure data shows which employers already understand E-3 visa sponsorship obligations, cutting your onboarding time significantly.
Get your Australian credentials assessed early
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 purposes, but have a credential evaluation ready before interviews start so employers aren't surprised during due diligence.
Clarify the LCA step before signing an offer
Many business development hiring managers don't know the employer must file an LCA with DOL before your consulate appointment. Raise this during the offer stage so HR can begin the certified wage documentation process without delay.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This keeps the process off your employer's plate and reduces the risk of documentation errors that delay your consulate appointment.
Prepare a role-specific specialty occupation letter
Business development titles can attract consular scrutiny because the duties vary widely. Ask your employer to document that the role requires applying theoretical knowledge from a specific field, not just general commercial or relationship-building skills.
E-3 Visa Business Development Professional: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find business development jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles that include E-3 sponsorship. Filtering by visa type surfaces employers already familiar with the LCA filing requirement, which matters for business development roles where hiring managers often underestimate the sponsorship steps involved.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a business development role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It can, but the qualification depends on how the role is defined, not just the title. The position must normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, marketing, or international commerce. Roles framed around general sales or relationship management without a degree requirement can face consular pushback, so the job description and offer letter language both matter.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for business development professionals?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply any time of year after securing a job offer. The H-1B is subject to an oversubscribed lottery, meaning a qualifying offer doesn't guarantee a visa slot. For Australian business development professionals, the E-3 is a direct path that doesn't depend on chance selection.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 in a business development role?
Yes, but each employer change requires a new LCA filing and a new visa stamp or change of status. You can begin working for a new employer once the new LCA is certified and the visa documentation is in order. There's no portability provision equivalent to H-1B, so plan the transition timeline carefully to avoid a gap in authorized employment.
