Frame your degree for specialty occupation
Your Australian bachelor's degree must align directly with the sales role, not just business broadly. If your degree is in marketing or commerce, highlight coursework in sales strategy, buyer behavior, or B2B relationship management to satisfy the specialty occupation requirement.
Target industries with LCA filing history
Software, medical devices, and financial services companies file LCAs for Business Sales Representatives far more often than retail or consumer goods firms. Search DOL's Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify which industries and employers have certified these roles recently.
Address the specialty occupation question early
Many U.S. hiring managers assume sales roles don't require a degree and may hesitate on E-3 sponsorship. Bring your offer letter and job description language into that conversation early, ensuring the duties reflect degree-level complexity, not just quota attainment.
Use Migrate Mate to manage your LCA and filing
The LCA must be certified by DOL before your consulate appointment, and errors in the employer's wage attestation are the most common delay. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so your employer isn't navigating this process alone.
Search for E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Generic job boards don't filter by visa sponsorship type, so you waste time on roles where E-3 is off the table. Migrate Mate surfaces Business Sales Representative openings from employers with active E-3 sponsorship history, so every application is a qualified lead.
Confirm your employer's E-Verify enrollment before accepting
E-Verify enrollment isn't required for most E-3 employers, but some enterprise companies mandate it for all new hires. Confirm enrollment status with HR before your offer is finalized, since USCIS and DOL have separate requirements that can affect your start date if overlooked.

Find Business Sales Representative JobsBusiness Sales Representative E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Business Sales Representative jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Most job boards don't distinguish between H-1B and E-3 sponsorship, which makes filtering difficult. Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals and surfaces Business Sales Representative roles from employers who have sponsored E-3 visas before. That filters out roles where sponsorship is off the table and focuses your search on genuine opportunities.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Business Sales Representative role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3 purposes?
It depends on how the role is defined. A sales position that requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, and involves complex account management, territory strategy, or technical product knowledge, can qualify. Roles described as requiring any degree, or no degree at all, are harder to support at the consulate. The job description language your employer uses matters significantly.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Business Sales Representative roles?
The E-3 has no annual lottery, no cap-related waitlist, and can be renewed indefinitely in two-year increments, making it far more predictable for both you and your employer. H-1B selection is lottery-based with a roughly 25% registration-to-selection rate in recent fiscal years. For an Australian national in a sales role, the E-3 is the more reliable path and involves significantly less employer overhead.
Can I change employers or get promoted while on an E-3 as a Business Sales Representative?
Yes to both, but each requires a new LCA filing. If you move to a new employer, your E-3 status must be tied to that new role before you start. A promotion that changes your job title or duties materially, or moves you to a different worksite, typically requires an amended LCA certified by DOL. Your E-3 stamp doesn't automatically transfer, so plan for a short processing window.
