Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Clinical Specialist
Match your degree to the role
Your Australian bachelor's degree must align with the specific Clinical Specialist field, whether that's biomedical engineering, nursing, or life sciences. A three-year Australian degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year bachelor's for E-3 purposes.
Target employers who file LCAs
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to find companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for Clinical Specialist or similar titles. Employers already familiar with the LCA process move faster and make fewer mistakes.
Clarify sponsorship before accepting an offer
Ask the hiring manager directly whether their company has sponsored E-3 visas before. Many medical device and diagnostics firms sponsor regularly but don't advertise it. Confirming this early prevents wasted time after an offer is extended.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your paperwork
Once you have a job offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This is especially useful when your employer's HR team hasn't sponsored an E-3 before and needs guidance on the DOL filing steps.
Prepare a credential summary for your employer
Put together a one-page summary of your Australian qualifications, registration status, and relevant clinical experience before interviews start. Employers unfamiliar with Australian credentials often stall on sponsorship decisions simply because they don't recognize the equivalency.
Time your application around consulate wait times
E-3 visa interviews are processed at U.S. consulates in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. Wait times vary by location and season, so schedule your interview appointment as soon as your LCA is certified by the DOL to avoid gaps between your offer acceptance and your start date.

How do I find Clinical Specialist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. Rather than filtering through general job boards, Migrate Mate surfaces Clinical Specialist positions at employers with a demonstrated history of sponsoring Australian workers, saving you the time of manually vetting each company.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Clinical Specialist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, in most cases. The E-3 requires the position to be a specialty occupation, meaning it theoretically and practically requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Clinical Specialist roles tied to medical devices, diagnostics, or clinical applications typically meet this standard, but the specific job description and degree field must align. A role described as requiring any bachelor's degree regardless of field is unlikely to qualify.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Clinical Specialist roles?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has no annual cap and no lottery, so your employer can sponsor you at any time of year. The H-1B is open to all nationalities but is subject to an annual cap and a randomized lottery, meaning most applications are rejected before USCIS even reviews them. For an Australian Clinical Specialist, the E-3 is a far more reliable path to a U.S. role.
Can I change employers while working in the U.S. on an E-3?
Yes, but you need to restart the process with your new employer. The new company must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp before you can begin work. You don't carry your existing visa authorization to the new role, so plan your transition timeline carefully and avoid resigning before the new LCA is certified.
