E-3 Visa Cloud Developer Jobs
Cloud Developer roles qualify as E-3 specialty occupations when the position requires a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Australian citizens can secure E-3 visa sponsorship without entering a lottery, and the visa renews in two-year increments for as long as you hold a qualifying role.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Cloud Developer
Translate your AWS or Azure certifications
U.S. employers equate cloud certifications with degree-level competency for specialty occupation purposes. Lead your resume with your certification stack alongside your degree field so recruiters can immediately confirm E-3 visa eligibility without asking.
Target companies with active LCA filings
Search the DOL's public disclosure data for employers who have certified LCAs for cloud or software roles. Prior LCA activity signals the employer understands the E-3 process and won't hesitate when you raise sponsorship during the offer stage.
Clarify the specialty occupation framing early
If the job posting says 'bachelor's preferred' rather than 'required,' the role may not meet the E-3 specialty occupation standard. Ask recruiters upfront whether the position requires a degree in a specific technical field, not just any discipline.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service end-to-end
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork. The LCA must be certified by DOL before you can attend your consulate appointment, and sequencing errors here delay your start date.
Confirm your employer's E-Verify enrollment status
Some U.S. states and federal contractors require employers to be enrolled in E-Verify before onboarding foreign workers. Verify enrollment before accepting an offer so there's no compliance gap on your first day.
Negotiate your start date around LCA certification
DOL typically certifies LCAs within seven business days, but workload spikes can extend that window. Build at least three weeks between your offer acceptance and proposed start date so your employer isn't rushing a government filing.
E-3 Visa Cloud Developer: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Cloud Developer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles that include E-3 sponsorship. Rather than filtering through general job boards where sponsorship status is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces Cloud Developer positions from employers who are already set up to sponsor E-3 visas, saving you significant time in the screening process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Cloud Developer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a closely related technical field. If the job description accepts any degree or substitutes experience for education without a clear academic requirement, the role may not clear the specialty occupation standard. Employers should document the degree requirement explicitly in the LCA and offer letter.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Cloud Developer roles?
For Australian nationals, the E-3 is significantly more accessible. The H-1B visa is subject to an annual lottery with a roughly 25% selection rate for cap-subject petitions, meaning most applicants wait years for a slot. The E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been exhausted, no lottery, and can be filed any time of year once you have a job offer and a certified LCA.
Can I switch cloud employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA and you need a new visa annotation if your current stamp lists the previous employer. There is no portability rule like AC21 for H-1B holders. You can begin working for the new employer once the new LCA is certified and, if you're already in the U.S., after filing for a change of employer with the consulate or via a new visa stamp.
