Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Community Engagement Manager
Frame your degree field precisely
Your Australian bachelor's degree must align with the specific Community Engagement Manager role, not just management broadly. A degree in communications, social policy, or public administration strengthens the specialty occupation argument your employer needs to make to the DOL.
Target nonprofit and government-adjacent employers
Local councils, community foundations, university outreach offices, and health system community benefit departments regularly sponsor E-3 holders for this role. These organizations have established LCA filing processes and are accustomed to documenting specialty occupation status for engagement positions.
Address specialty occupation before the offer stage
Community engagement roles sometimes attract scrutiny because the title sounds generalist. Before you reach offer negotiations, confirm your prospective employer can document that the role requires a specific bachelor's degree, not just any degree or equivalent experience.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA preparation
The LCA must be certified by the DOL before your consulate appointment, and the prevailing wage determination affects your offer terms. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so nothing delays your start date.
Negotiate your job description alongside your offer
Ask your employer to specify degree requirements in the written job description before the LCA is filed. A description that lists a bachelor's degree in a relevant field as required, not preferred, directly supports your E-3 petition and reduces the risk of a consular officer questioning specialty occupation status.
Prepare evidence of your Australian credential equivalency
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 purposes, but consular officers can ask for clarification. Bring your transcript and a brief credential evaluation letter to your interview to preempt any questions.

Find Community Engagement Manager JobsCommunity Engagement Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Community Engagement Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Community Engagement Manager roles from employers with active E-3 and LCA filing history, so you can filter specifically for sponsorship-open positions rather than cold-applying and discovering late in the process that an employer won't sponsor. Starting your search there saves time and surfaces employers already familiar with E-3 requirements for this role type.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Community Engagement Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3 purposes?
It can, but the job description has to do the work. The DOL requires the role to normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field, not just any degree. Roles tied to public health outreach, nonprofit program management, or government community programs are strongest, because the required degree field, communications, social work, or public administration, is clearly defined in most postings.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Community Engagement Manager roles?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so an Australian professional with a qualifying job offer can apply and receive a decision year-round without waiting for a random selection. The H-1B requires registration in a lottery that rejects most applicants before the petition is even filed. For this role category, where specialty occupation status is sometimes borderline, avoiding the H-1B lottery also avoids a wasted registration cycle.
Can I change employers or roles while on an E-3 as a Community Engagement Manager?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you need a new E-3 visa stamp reflecting the new employer before you travel internationally. If you're already in the U.S., you can start working for the new employer once the LCA is certified and the new visa documentation is in order, without waiting for a new stamp, as long as you don't leave the country.
