Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Compliance Investigator
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
Australian 3-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. 4-year degrees for E-3 purposes. If your degree is in a tangentially related field, document how your coursework directly supports investigative and compliance functions the role requires.
Target employers with active compliance functions
Financial institutions, healthcare systems, and publicly traded companies maintain dedicated compliance teams and file LCAs regularly. Focus your search on organizations subject to federal regulatory oversight, as they're most familiar with sponsoring specialist roles under treaty visas.
Search E-3 sponsorship roles using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find Compliance Investigator positions where employers have already indicated E-3 sponsorship availability, saving you from cold-pitching roles that won't progress past HR screening due to visa uncertainty.
Clarify specialty occupation standing before accepting an offer
Not every compliance title qualifies as a specialty occupation. Confirm the job description explicitly requires a degree in a specific discipline rather than any bachelor's degree, since USCIS scrutinizes generalist framing in compliance and investigative roles.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and paperwork
The LCA must be certified by DOL before your consulate appointment can proceed. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork, avoiding delays that commonly occur when employers file without prior E-3 experience.
Prepare for specialty occupation questions at the consulate
Consular officers may question how your specific degree relates to compliance investigation work. Bring your degree transcripts, a detailed offer letter referencing required qualifications, and any professional certifications such as CFE or CCEP to support your application.

Find Compliance Investigator JobsCompliance Investigator E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Compliance Investigator jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search for Compliance Investigator roles where employers have confirmed E-3 visa sponsorship. This filters out positions where sponsorship hasn't been considered, which is common in compliance hiring. Focus on regulated industries such as banking, healthcare, and government contracting, where compliance investigation is a defined function rather than an ad hoc responsibility.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Compliance Investigator role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the job description requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as law, criminology, accounting, or a related discipline. Roles that accept any bachelor's degree regardless of field can face USCIS scrutiny. You'll strengthen your case by ensuring the offer letter specifies the required degree field and that your own degree aligns with it.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Compliance Investigator positions?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply at any point in the year and don't face the uncertainty of random selection. The H-1B cap is 85,000 per fiscal year and oversubscribed, meaning most applicants aren't selected. For Australian compliance professionals, the E-3 offers a far more predictable path to U.S. employment.
Can I switch compliance employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but you need a new LCA certified by DOL and a new E-3 visa issued in your name for the new employer before starting work. Unlike some visa categories, E-3 status doesn't transfer automatically. If you're already in the U.S., you can begin with the new employer once the new visa is stamped, which typically requires a consulate appointment in Australia or a third country.
