Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Field Service Representative
Frame your technical credentials for U.S. employers
Your Australian three-year engineering or electronics degree is accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year bachelor's for E-3 purposes. Request an official transcript and have it ready to demonstrate field-specific degree alignment to hiring managers.
Target employers with active field service divisions
Focus on industrial equipment manufacturers, medical device companies, and defense contractors that operate domestic service networks. These employers routinely file Labor Condition Applications for field roles and understand the E-3 process better than general technology firms.
Confirm the role is classified as a specialty occupation
Not every Field Service Representative posting qualifies. The position must require a specific bachelor's degree, not just any degree. Ask hiring managers whether their DOL job description explicitly states a degree requirement in engineering or a related technical discipline.
Negotiate LCA filing into your offer timeline
Your employer must file the Labor Condition Application with DOL before you can book your consulate appointment. Build at least two to three weeks for LCA certification into your start-date negotiation so the sponsorship process doesn't delay your arrival.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the full process
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA submission, DS-160, and consulate preparation. This keeps your employer's administrative burden low, which removes a common reason field service employers hesitate on sponsorship.
Clarify travel obligations with your E-3 employer early
Field service roles often require travel across multiple U.S. states. USCIS permits this under a single E-3 petition if all work locations are disclosed in the LCA. Get written confirmation from your employer that multi-site travel is covered before the petition is filed.

Find Field Service Representative JobsField Service Representative E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Field Service Representative jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search Field Service Representative roles filtered specifically for E-3 visa sponsorship, so you're only seeing employers already open to the process. That matters because many field service postings don't advertise sponsorship availability upfront, and reaching out without a targeted list wastes time on employers who won't file an LCA.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Field Service Representative role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the employer defines the position. If the job posting requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, electronics, or a closely related technical field, it typically qualifies. Roles that accept any degree, or list a degree as preferred rather than required, are harder to support under E-3 specialty occupation rules. Request the DOL job description language before accepting an offer.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Field Service Representative roles?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so your employer can file at any time and expect a decision without waiting for a random selection. The H-1B requires entering a lottery in March for an October start date, which creates a six-month-plus gap that most field service employers find impractical. For Australians, the E-3 is a faster, more predictable path to starting work.
What happens to my E-3 status if I move to a different field service employer?
You need a new E-3 petition each time you change employers. Your new employer must file a fresh Labor Condition Application with DOL and you'll need to either attend another consulate appointment in Australia or, in some cases, change status inside the U.S. You can't transfer your existing E-3 the way you might port an H-1B under AC21 portability rules.
