E-3 Visa Finance Intern Jobs
Finance Intern roles in the U.S. are open to Australian nationals through E-3 visa sponsorship, which requires a bachelor's degree in a finance-related field and a certified Labor Condition Application from your employer. The E-3 has no lottery and renews every two years, making it a practical entry point into U.S. financial services.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Finance Intern
Align your degree to the role
U.S. consular officers verify that your finance degree directly supports the intern position. A degree in accounting, economics, or financial analysis satisfies specialty occupation requirements; a general business degree without finance coursework can trigger additional scrutiny.
Target firms with LCA filing history
Finance internships at investment banks, asset managers, and corporate treasury teams regularly file Labor Condition Applications through the DOL. Prioritize employers whose recruiting materials explicitly reference E-3 or international sponsorship rather than assuming any finance role qualifies.
Clarify internship duration before the LCA
Your employer must specify your employment start and end date on the LCA. For a term-limited internship, a short validity period is standard, but confirm the employer knows E-3 allows for a full two-year stamp even if the internship ends sooner.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service early
DOL LCA certification can take seven business days and must be complete before your consulate appointment. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so you're not delaying your start date while chasing employer HR teams.
Confirm prevailing wage compliance upfront
The DOL requires your intern wage to meet the prevailing wage for the role's SOC code and work location. Ask your employer to confirm the wage level before the LCA is filed, as an underpayment requires refiling and delays your timeline.
Search visa-specific listings on Migrate Mate
Most generic job boards don't filter by visa type, so you waste time on roles where sponsorship is never offered. Migrate Mate surfaces Finance Intern positions where employers have active E-3 sponsorship history, narrowing your search to roles that are actually accessible.

Find Finance Intern JobsFinance Intern E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Finance Intern jobs that sponsor the E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It lists Finance Intern roles where employers have a history of E-3 sponsorship, so you're not applying to positions that will require months of persuasion before HR agrees to file. Filter by role and location to see active opportunities matched to your visa type.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Finance Intern role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on the job duties and the employer's degree requirement. If the role requires applying financial theory, modeling, or regulatory analysis and the employer mandates a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics, it typically meets the specialty occupation standard. Internships where any degree is acceptable are harder to support. Confirm the job description specifies a finance-related degree before you accept an offer.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for a Finance Intern role?
The E-3 is available year-round with no lottery, while H-1B registration opens once annually in March and selection is random. For a finance internship with a defined start date, the E-3 is far more predictable. You can apply within weeks of an offer, whereas an H-1B slot might not be available until the following October at the earliest.
Can my Finance Intern E-3 visa be extended if the employer converts me to a full-time role?
Yes. If your employer offers a full-time finance position after your internship, they file a new LCA reflecting the updated job title, duties, and wage. You then apply for a fresh E-3 stamp, typically at the same Australian consulate. The two-year renewal process is the same whether the role started as an internship or not.
