E-3 Visa Public Relations Intern Jobs
Public Relations Intern roles in the U.S. qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship when the position requires a bachelor's degree in communications, PR, or a related field. The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, making it a practical path for Australian graduates entering U.S. agency or in-house PR teams.

Frame your Australian PR credentials for U.S. employers
Australian three-year communications or PR degrees meet E-3 visa specialty occupation requirements, but your resume should explicitly state the degree field and institution. U.S. hiring managers unfamiliar with Australian education often need that context to move forward.
Target agencies with established international hiring pipelines
PR agencies that already place Australian staff in U.S. offices understand LCA timelines and intern visa logistics. Ask directly in your cover letter whether the role is open to E-3 sponsorship so you filter out employers who've never navigated the process.
Confirm the role qualifies as a specialty occupation
An internship title alone doesn't guarantee E-3 eligibility. The DOL LCA requires the position to normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Make sure the job description explicitly ties the duties to a PR or communications discipline, not just general office work.
Get your LCA filed before accepting an offer timeline
The DOL must certify your Labor Condition Application before your consulate appointment can proceed. Build at least two to three weeks into your start-date negotiation for LCA processing so the employer's timeline doesn't force a rushed or incomplete filing.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork
PR internships often have fixed start dates tied to campaign cycles or program cohorts. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the LCA, DS-160, and consulate prep end-to-end, reducing the risk of paperwork delays pushing your start date.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions specific to early-career applicants
Consular officers sometimes scrutinize intern-level E-3 applicants more closely on nonimmigrant intent. Have a clear answer about your post-internship plans and ties to Australia, including evidence of your degree enrollment or recent graduation if the role is entry-level.
E-3 Visa Public Relations Intern: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Public Relations Intern jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles that support E-3 sponsorship. Standard job boards don't filter by visa type, so you'd otherwise spend hours identifying which employers are open to the E-3 process. Searching through Migrate Mate surfaces PR intern roles from employers already familiar with or open to E-3 sponsorship requirements.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a PR internship actually qualify for the E-3 visa?
Yes, provided the role genuinely requires a bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a closely related field. The DOL LCA certification hinges on that degree requirement being real and documented in the job description. An internship marketed as open to any major, or primarily administrative in nature, is unlikely to meet the specialty occupation standard.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for a PR internship role?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has a 10,500-slot annual cap that has never been filled, meaning there's no lottery and no random selection. The H-1B visa requires entering a lottery with a roughly 25 percent selection rate. For an Australian PR intern with a qualifying degree, the E-3 is a significantly more reliable and faster path to starting work in the U.S.
Can I start a PR internship while my E-3 visa is being processed?
You can't begin work until your E-3 visa is issued and you've entered the U.S. in E-3 status. Internship cohort start dates are often fixed, so coordinate with your employer early to ensure the LCA is filed and the consulate appointment is scheduled with enough lead time, typically four to six weeks before your intended start date.
