Overview of the Role:
We're looking for a highly accomplished and senior-level Agentforce Forward Deployed Engineer with 5+ years of experience to lead the charge on complex AI agentic deployments. This role demands a seasoned technologist and strategic partner who can not only design and develop bespoke solutions leveraging our Agentforce platform and other cutting-edge technologies but also lead technical engagements and mentor junior peers. You'll be the primary driver of transformative AI solutions, operating with deep technical mastery, unparalleled problem-solving prowess, and a relentless focus on delivering tangible value in dynamic, real-world environments, from initial concept to successful deployment and ongoing optimization.
As a Senior Agentforce Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of bringing cutting-edge AI solutions to our most strategic clients. This isn't just about coding; it's about deeply understanding our customers' most complex problems, architecting sophisticated solutions, and leading the end-to-end technical delivery of innovative, impactful solutions that leverage our Agentforce platform and beyond. You'll be a hands-on leader, shaping technical strategy and ensuring successful outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Drive Tangible Outcomes through Hands-On Implementation: Be responsible for the end-to-end technical delivery of complex AI solutions, personally writing critical code, configuring systems, and troubleshooting issues, while also guiding and reviewing the work of junior team members to ensure successful deployment and measurable business impact.
- Build Transformative AI Solutions: Take primary ownership of designing, developing, and personally implementing high-quality, scalable production systems. A significant part of this will involve architecting and deploying complex AI and Large Language Model (LLM) based intelligent agents and automated workflows, all built on top of the Salesforce platform.
- Engineer Bespoke Agentic AI Solutions: Work directly with customers to design and build custom intelligent agents using the Agentforce platform, ensuring they precisely meet unique business requirements and integrate seamlessly with existing customer ecosystems.
- Data Configuration & Integration: Own the entire data lifecycle, from strategic design of data models to hands-on building of efficient processing pipelines and establishing seamless integration strategies. You'll ensure data is always ready, optimized, and secure for our advanced AI applications, often navigating complex enterprise data environments.
- Proactively Remove Technical Blockers: Identify, analyze, and directly resolve the most complex technical challenges during all phases of solution delivery, from intricate data integration to sophisticated model deployment and advanced agent orchestration. You'll be the ultimate go-to expert for unblocking progress.
- Drive Agentforce Innovation: Become a foremost expert in our innovative Agentforce platform, pushing its capabilities to the limit. You'll lead the development of bespoke intelligent agents, automate intricate business processes, and craft intuitive user experiences. Your insights from the field will directly influence future product enhancements and help shape the strategic direction of our platform, often representing the voice of the customer in product discussions.
- Become a Trusted Strategic Partner: Embed yourself deeply with client teams to truly grasp their operational challenges and strategic goals. You'll translate these nuanced needs into clear, actionable technical requirements and solution designs, building strong relationships as their primary technical advisor and leading technical discussions.
- Conduct Deep-Dive Technical Debugging and Root Cause Analysis: Perform detailed analysis, debugging, and root cause identification for complex system interactions, data flows, and AI model behaviors to optimize performance, ensure reliability, and prevent recurrence of issues.
- Lead Rapid Prototyping and Iteration: Quickly develop proofs-of-concept and minimum viable products, often coding alongside client teams to demonstrate capabilities and gather feedback for iterative refinement, setting the pace for rapid delivery.
- Implement and Enforce Best Practices: Directly apply and evangelize engineering best practices for code quality, scalability, security, and maintainability across all deployed solutions, serving as a technical role model.

Frame your degree for specialty occupation
Forward Deployed Engineering sits at the intersection of software engineering and customer-facing consulting. Document how your degree maps to the technical requirements of the specific role, not just the job title, before applications go out.
Target companies with established LCA infrastructure
Employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications before move faster and make fewer errors. Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data for companies that have sponsored software or solutions engineers on E-3 visa or H-1B visas in the past two years.
Address client travel requirements upfront
Forward Deployed roles often involve travel to client sites across multiple states. Confirm with your hiring contact that the LCA will cover your primary worksite, since USCIS requires a certified LCA tied to a specific work location before your visa is issued.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and consulate prep
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork. The LCA must be certified by DOL before your consulate appointment, and errors at this stage delay your start date by weeks.
Search specifically for E-3 sponsorship on Migrate Mate
Most job boards don't filter by visa type. Migrate Mate is built for Australian professionals seeking U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship, so you're looking at employers who already understand the process rather than educating recruiters from scratch.
Negotiate your start date around consulate processing
Australian consulates in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth currently schedule E-3 interviews within a few weeks, but administrative processing can extend timelines unpredictably. Build at least six weeks between your offer acceptance and your proposed start date.
E-3 Visa Forward Deployed Engineering: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Forward Deployed Engineering jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find Forward Deployed Engineering roles where employers already know and support the E-3 visa process. Most general job boards don't filter by visa type, so you end up spending time educating recruiters about a visa they've never sponsored. Migrate Mate surfaces roles specifically open to Australian professionals on E-3 visas.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does Forward Deployed Engineering qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3 visa?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field such as computer science, software engineering, or a closely related discipline. The key is that the degree requirement must be inherent to the position, not just preferred. Roles that accept any bachelor's degree regardless of field are harder to qualify. Job descriptions that specify engineering or computer science degrees are a strong signal the role will pass USCIS scrutiny.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Forward Deployed Engineering roles?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply at any time of year and start within weeks of receiving an offer rather than waiting up to 18 months. H-1B selection is random and runs only once a year in April, with a roughly 25 percent selection rate. For Forward Deployed Engineering roles, where employers often need staff deployed to client sites on short timelines, the E-3's on-demand availability is a practical advantage.
Can I switch employers or clients while on an E-3 in a Forward Deployed role?
You can change employers on the E-3, but your current visa is tied to your sponsoring employer's Labor Condition Application. If you move to a new company, your new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need either a new visa stamp or a change of status. If your role involves being seconded to a client site rather than changing employers, that's generally covered under the existing LCA as long as your primary employer relationship and work location remain consistent.
