Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a FP&A Analyst
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
Your Australian three-year bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 visa purposes. Have your academic transcripts ready and be prepared to explain this equivalency directly to HR teams unfamiliar with Australian qualifications.
Target companies with active LCA filing history
Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data for employers who have previously filed Labor Condition Applications for financial analyst roles. Prior LCA activity signals a finance team and HR process already set up to sponsor, which cuts weeks off your timeline.
Frame FP&A as a specialty occupation in your application
Not every FP&A posting specifies a required degree field. If the job description says 'bachelor's preferred' rather than 'required in finance or accounting,' push back with your hiring manager before the LCA is filed, as a vague job requirement can complicate your visa application.
Get your employer to file the LCA before you resign
The LCA must be certified by the DOL before you can apply at the consulate. Confirm your employer has submitted it and received certification, which takes around seven business days, before you give notice at your current job or book travel to Australia.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your paperwork
FP&A roles often involve tight start-date deadlines tied to budget cycles. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so your employer's finance team isn't scrambling to manage an unfamiliar immigration process under deadline pressure.
Prepare a consulate-ready employment verification packet
At your visa interview, officers will expect detailed documentation of your FP&A role scope, not just an offer letter. Bring an org chart, a role description specifying your degree requirement, and your employer's most recent financial statements to support the specialty occupation claim.
E-3 Visa FP&A Analyst: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find FP&A Analyst jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for E-3 visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can filter roles by job title and see which employers have a history of sponsoring international hires. That's a faster starting point than searching generalist platforms where sponsorship information is inconsistent or buried.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an FP&A Analyst role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. FP&A Analyst roles qualify as specialty occupations because they typically require a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. The key requirement is that the degree must be in a specific discipline tied directly to the job duties. If your offer letter or job description doesn't specify a required degree field, ask your employer to tighten the language before the LCA is filed.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for FP&A Analyst roles?
For Australian nationals, the E-3 is almost always the better path for FP&A roles. There's no lottery, no annual cap, and the application goes directly to the consulate rather than waiting on USCIS processing. The H-1B visa requires an April registration and a random selection process, meaning you could wait a full year or longer to start. E-3 status can be obtained in weeks once your employer files the LCA.
Can I change employers on an E-3 while working as an FP&A Analyst?
You can change employers, but your E-3 status is tied to your specific job and employer. You'll need a new LCA certified by the DOL and a new visa stamp before or shortly after you start with the new company. There's no H-1B-style portability rule, so plan your transition timing carefully to avoid a gap in authorized status.
