Align your degree to the role
National Account Sales positions must qualify as a specialty occupation under E-3 visa rules. Frame your business, marketing, or commerce degree as directly required for the role, not just preferred, so the LCA and visa application hold up under scrutiny.
Target employers with prior LCA history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for companies that have filed LCAs for sales roles before. Employers already familiar with the process move faster and are less likely to back out after an offer.
Get your Australian credentials evaluated early
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree, but have a credential evaluation letter ready before interviews. Delays at this step can stall the LCA filing after an offer is made.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for post-offer steps
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This avoids the common mistake of letting a busy hiring manager sit on filing tasks until your start date slips.
Negotiate role scope before the LCA is filed
The LCA locks in your job title and worksite location. If your territory or reporting structure might change in the first six months, resolve that before filing. Amending an LCA mid-employment requires a new filing and delays your status.
E-3 Visa National Account Sales: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find National Account Sales jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists National Account Sales roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship, so you're not cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with the visa. Filtering by E-3 eligibility upfront saves weeks of back-and-forth with recruiters who conflate the process with an H-1B lottery application.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a National Account Sales role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the position is written. A National Account Sales role that explicitly requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field qualifies. Roles where a degree is listed as preferred rather than required are harder to support. Your offer letter and job description need to reflect the degree requirement clearly before the DOL will certify the LCA.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for National Account Sales positions?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so your employer can file at any time of year and expect a predictable outcome. The H-1B process involves a March registration lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection rate for most applicants. For National Account Sales roles, which often have defined start dates tied to fiscal quarters or territory handovers, the E-3's timeline predictability is a practical advantage.
Can I change employers or territories while on an E-3 in a National Account Sales role?
You can change employers, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new visa stamp if yours reflects the prior employer's details. Changing your covered worksite territory within the same employer also requires an amended LCA if the new location falls outside the original filing's metropolitan statistical area. Plan the timing around your visa expiry to avoid a gap.
