E-3 Visa Managing Consultant Jobs
Managing Consultant roles qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship when the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, management, or a related discipline. The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so Australian professionals can secure sponsorship year-round without competing in the H-1B registration process.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Managing Consultant
Frame your credentials for specialty occupation
Your Australian bachelor's degree must align with the specific consulting discipline, not just general business. If your degree is in a different field, document how three years of relevant experience substitutes for each year of missing education when preparing your E-3 application materials.
Target firms with existing LCA filing history
Focus your search on consulting firms that have already filed Labor Condition Applications for similar roles. These employers understand the DOL certification process and won't need educating on their obligations, which shortens the time between offer and visa approval significantly.
Clarify the third-party placement issue upfront
Managing Consultants often work at client sites rather than the sponsoring employer's office. USCIS scrutinizes third-party worksite arrangements, so confirm your offer letter specifies your employer's supervision and control over your work before the LCA is filed.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for complex offers
If your offer involves multiple client engagements or project-based billing structures, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork. Consulting arrangements with variable scope raise questions officers flag, and professional preparation reduces that risk substantially.
Negotiate timeline expectations before accepting
DOL must certify the LCA before your consulate appointment can proceed. Build at least four to six weeks into your start-date negotiation to account for LCA certification and appointment scheduling, especially if you're applying from Australia rather than changing status domestically.
Address nonimmigrant intent at the consulate directly
Consulting roles attract scrutiny because they're closely associated with long-term career paths. Prepare a clear statement of your intent to return to Australia when your E-3 status ends. Officers can and do ask about this, and a vague answer is a common reason for administrative processing delays.

Find Managing Consultant JobsManaging Consultant E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Managing Consultant jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for roles with E-3 sponsorship. Rather than filtering through general job boards where visa status is buried in small print or absent entirely, Migrate Mate surfaces employers with active E-3 and LCA filing history for consulting roles, so you're targeting companies that already understand the process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Managing Consultant role actually qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is defined by the employer. A Managing Consultant position qualifies when the job genuinely requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as management, finance, or engineering, as a minimum entry requirement. Generalist management roles where any degree satisfies the requirement are harder to support. The job description and the LCA must together demonstrate that the degree requirement is tied to the actual duties performed.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Managing Consultant roles?
For Australian nationals, the E-3 is straightforwardly better for this role. There is no lottery, no annual cap, and no April registration window to miss. You can apply year-round whenever you have a qualified offer. The H-1B selection rate for general-category workers has been around 25 percent in recent years, meaning most registrants are not selected even when their petition would otherwise qualify.
Can I switch consulting employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but you cannot simply transfer your existing E-3 status to the new employer. Each employer change requires a fresh LCA filed with the DOL and a new E-3 visa application, either through a change of status petition or a new consulate appointment. You can begin work for the new employer once the new LCA is certified and the visa or status change is approved, not before.
