Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a New Grad
Align your degree to the role description
Consular officers assess whether your qualification directly supports the specialty occupation. A business degree won't anchor a software engineering application. Confirm the job posting requires a specific field of study before you apply.
Check whether your three-year degree qualifies
Australian bachelor's degrees are three years, not four. USCIS generally accepts them as equivalent, but your employer's immigration contact should confirm this before the LCA is filed to avoid surprises at the consulate.
Target employers with active LCA filing histories
DOL certifies the Labor Condition Application before your visa interview. Search for employers who have already filed LCAs for your job title using the DOL's FLAG portal, which shows certified applications by employer and role.
Get the sponsorship conversation right in interviews
New grad hiring managers often don't know the E-3 requires no lottery. Frame it as a straightforward DOL and consulate process, not a legal burden. Clarify that the employer files the LCA, and you attend the interview in Australia.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service from day one
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. New grad cases move faster when documentation is complete before the consulate appointment is scheduled.
Book your consulate appointment before your start date is set
Consulate wait times at Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth vary by season. Confirm your appointment window with your employer before agreeing to a start date so you're not locked into a timeline the process can't meet.

Find New Grad JobsNew Grad E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find New Grad jobs in the U.S. that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for E-3 visa sponsorship roles. You can filter by job title, location, and sponsorship history to find employers who have already filed for Australian workers. This is the most direct way to identify New Grad openings without cold-searching employers who may be unfamiliar with the E-3.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does my Australian degree qualify me for a New Grad E-3 visa application?
USCIS generally accepts Australian three-year bachelor's degrees as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 purposes, provided the field of study directly relates to the role. If your degree is in a different discipline from the job title, the application is at risk. Your employer's LCA filing should reflect the specific degree field required.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for New Grad roles?
The H-1B requires entry into an annual lottery with a roughly 25 percent selection rate, meaning most new graduates aren't selected in their first year. The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so Australian nationals can start the process as soon as an offer is in hand. There's no registration window to wait for and no risk of being locked out for a full year.
What happens if my New Grad employer has never sponsored an E-3 before?
The E-3 process is simpler than most employers expect. The employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, which is typically certified within seven business days. You then apply at the U.S. consulate in Australia. Many first-time sponsors complete the process without prior experience, especially when supported by a structured filing service.
