Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship in Head Of Operations
Frame your credentials around U.S. specialty occupation standards
Your Australian operations experience counts, but the E-3 visa requires the role to demand a specific bachelor's degree. Document how your degree field directly maps to the Head of Operations responsibilities, not just general business expertise.
Target employers with existing DOL LCA filing history
Employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications before already understand the DOL certification process. Search OFLC disclosure data for companies that have sponsored operations or management roles, they're far less likely to stall on sponsorship paperwork.
Address dual intent before your interview stage
The E-3 is a nonimmigrant visa, so interviewers may probe your long-term intentions. Prepare a clear, honest account of your career plans in the U.S. that doesn't conflict with the nonimmigrant intent requirement.
Get your LCA filed before you accept a start date
DOL must certify the LCA before you can attend your consulate appointment. Build at least two to four weeks of LCA processing time into your offer negotiation so your start date is realistic and your employer isn't caught short.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to coordinate LCA and consulate prep
Head of Operations offers move fast and employers expect quick onboarding. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the LCA submission, visa paperwork, and consulate appointment preparation so nothing delays your start date.
Negotiate a written sponsorship commitment before resigning
E-3 sponsorship is employer-tied, so if the offer falls through after you've resigned your current role, you lose both. Get the employer's sponsorship obligations documented in your offer letter before giving notice.
E-3 Visa Head Of Operations: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Head of Operations jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for E-3 visa sponsorship roles in the U.S. You can filter Head of Operations positions by employers with active sponsorship history, which cuts out the back-and-forth of approaching companies that have never filed an LCA before.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Head of Operations role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It can, but not automatically. The role must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business administration or operations management. If the job description accepts any degree or no degree at all, the consular officer may question whether it meets the specialty occupation standard. A well-drafted LCA and offer letter that ties the degree requirement to the operational responsibilities strengthens the case significantly.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Head of Operations roles?
The H-1B visa requires entering an annual lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection chance, while the E-3 has no lottery and a 10,500-visa annual cap that has never been fully used. For Australian nationals in operations leadership, the E-3 is a direct path to U.S. employment without waiting for a lottery result. The trade-off is that the E-3 is exclusively available to Australian citizens, so it's not an option if you hold dual citizenship and are applying under a different nationality.
What happens to my E-3 status if my Head of Operations role changes significantly?
If your responsibilities shift substantially, such as moving from an operations director role to a company-wide CEO function, your existing E-3 may no longer match the certified LCA. Your employer should file an amended LCA and updated visa documentation before the change takes effect. Smaller title or pay adjustments within the same specialty occupation typically don't require a new filing, but it's worth confirming the scope of the change against your original LCA certification.
