Responsibilities
The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking additional Interventional Radiologists to join a growing and highly specialized practice.
The Interventional Radiology (IR) Division at Mayo Clinic Florida supports the needs of a destination medical center, delivering high-level care with a strong focus on interventional oncology and transplantation. The division performs more than 8,000 minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures annually, supported by 10 board-certified interventional radiologists in a state-of-the-art facility featuring four single-plane interventional suites and one CT/angiography hybrid room. With the planned addition of two new procedure rooms in 2027, we are seeking highly qualified candidates to support both a subspecialized outpatient IR practice and a robust, expanding inpatient service.
A well-established outpatient clinic supports a thriving consultation practice and has facilitated further IR subspecialization. The interventional oncology program is actively engaged in multidisciplinary tumor boards and offers a comprehensive range of transarterial and ablative therapies. We are particularly interested in candidates with subspecialty expertise or interest in:
- Treatment of secondary liver malignancies, especially metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC)
- Lung ablation
- Lymphatic disease management
The inpatient IR service is transitioning to a primary consult model, with substantial support from residents and advanced practice providers (APPs). Interventional radiologists participate in inpatient consult coverage on a rotational basis, integrated with primary call responsibilities. Additionally, IR faculty are responsible for the primary interpretation of diagnostic vascular imaging, including CT and MR angiography.
Consistent with Mayo Clinic’s mission of patient care, education, and research, the department fully supports the integrated IR residency, independent IR residency, and Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) pathways. Faculty members are expected to actively engage in teaching and research within both the interventional and diagnostic radiology training programs.
The Department of Radiology is further supported by 10 experienced advanced practice providers (APRNs and PAs) who work collaboratively with IR faculty to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Interventional Specialist
Verify your Australian degree meets requirements
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 specialty occupation purposes. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before applying to confirm equivalency in writing.
Target hospitals with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's OFLC disclosure data to identify U.S. health systems and device companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for interventional or clinical specialist roles. Employers with LCA history understand the process and are faster to commit to sponsorship.
Clarify device company versus hospital sponsorship early
Interventional Specialist roles split between medical device manufacturers and hospital systems. Device companies typically sponsor E-3 visas directly through their HR teams, while hospitals may route sponsorship through staffing intermediaries, which changes your filing timeline and paperwork requirements.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your paperwork
Once you have a signed offer letter, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end, from DOL submission through consulate preparation. This avoids the coordination delays that derail offers when employers lack internal immigration support.
Prepare a specialty occupation letter with clinical specifics
Your employer's support letter must establish that the Interventional Specialist role requires a degree in a specific field, not just any bachelor's degree. Ask hiring managers to reference the specialized training, device protocols, or anatomy knowledge the position demands to strengthen the specialty occupation case.
Schedule your consulate appointment before your start date
E-3 visa processing at Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth consulates can take two to eight weeks depending on appointment availability. Align your consulate booking with your offer letter start date early, since appointment slots at peak periods fill well in advance of when you need them.

Find Interventional Specialist JobsInterventional Specialist E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Interventional Specialist jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 visa sponsorship. You can filter by job title and visa type to surface Interventional Specialist positions at employers already familiar with the E-3 process, which significantly reduces the back-and-forth involved in convincing a new employer to sponsor.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Interventional Specialist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as biomedical science, nursing, medical imaging, or a related clinical discipline. The key is that the role must theoretically and practically require that specific degree, not merely prefer it. Job descriptions that say 'degree preferred' can weaken the specialty occupation argument, so it's worth asking the employer to confirm degree requirements before you file.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Interventional Specialist roles?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so there's no risk of being selected out of eligibility the way H-1B applicants are. You can apply any time of year once you have a job offer and a certified LCA from the DOL. For Interventional Specialists, this matters because device company hiring cycles don't align with the H-1B April registration window, and the E-3's year-round availability fits that hiring pattern far better.
Can I switch Interventional Specialist employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but each employer change requires a new LCA and, in most cases, a new E-3 visa stamp obtained at a U.S. consulate in Australia or a third country. There's no portability provision like the one available under certain H-1B transfers. Plan for a gap between roles since you cannot legally work for the new employer until the new E-3 documentation is in place.
