- Acting as a catalyst for collaboration across practices and geographies, building strong internal networks and fostering joined‑up, client‑centric approaches to sector and relationship development.
- Acting as the BD lead for key client relationships, partnering with relationship partners and client teams to develop and deliver strategic, insight‑led client plans.
- Serving as a trusted central point of contact on key relationships, providing timely client intelligence, market insight and strategic guidance to teams across the Firm.
- Building a deep, commercial understanding of clients’ businesses, competitive landscapes and priorities to proactively identify opportunities for revenue and relationship growth.
- Carry out client feedback, working closely with partners to translate insight into meaningful action and enhanced client experience.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business development, marketing & communication team and the wider Firm to ensure a strong understanding of capabilities and to drive focused, impactful business development activity.
- Supporting partners and lawyers in advance of key client meetings and strategic BD engagements, ensuring they are fully briefed and market‑ready.
- Partnering with marketing and other specialist teams on innovative product development and campaigns, tailored to clients, industry and growth opportunities.
- Coordinating efforts across professional services to deliver value‑add initiatives that strengthen long‑term client relationships.
- Championing and supporting the rollout of best practice in relationship management, helping to raise standards and capability across client teams.
- Creating practical, high‑quality client and sector tools, resources and insights to support partners and teams in their business development efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 7 years of experience working in business development or client relationship management.
- The Business Development Manager will be expected to have a track record of successfully managing client relations or business development in a law firm or professional services environment.
- The position requires a high-energy and motivated team player who is also able to work independently as the business development point person for partners.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Market Development Manager
Frame your Australian market expertise strategically
Translate your APAC or ANZ market development experience into language U.S. hiring managers recognize. Quantify territory growth, pipeline expansion, and channel partnerships. Employers weigh your regional expertise as a direct asset, not just background context.
Target employers with LCA filing history
Search the DOL's public LCA disclosure data for companies that have previously filed under SOC codes tied to business development and market management roles. Prior filings confirm the employer understands E-3 sponsorship obligations before you raise the topic.
Confirm your degree field matches the role
E-3 requires a direct nexus between your degree and the offered position. A business, marketing, or economics degree supports a Market Development Manager application cleanly. A mismatched field like engineering may require additional documentation showing relevance.
Raise sponsorship after demonstrating role fit
Bring up E-3 sponsorship after you've established your value in the interview process, not in the initial application. Employers unfamiliar with the E-3 are more likely to engage once they've decided you're the right candidate for the role.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the offer stage
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. Most Market Development Manager sponsorship delays happen at the LCA certification step, and professional handling reduces that friction significantly.
Request a start date that accounts for LCA processing
The DOL's Labor Condition Application must be certified before your consulate appointment. Build at least three to four weeks into your proposed start date to cover LCA processing and appointment scheduling, especially during high-volume periods.

Find Market Development Manager JobsMarket Development Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Market Development Manager jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. You can filter by job title and see which employers have a history of E-3 and related visa filings, so you're targeting companies already familiar with the sponsorship process rather than educating employers from scratch.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Market Development Manager role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, marketing, economics, or a related discipline. Roles where any degree suffices regardless of field are harder to support. The job offer letter and employer documentation need to clearly establish that the degree requirement is real and specific to the position.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Market Development Manager roles?
The E-3 has a dedicated 10,500-slot annual allocation for Australians that has never been exhausted, so there is no lottery and no waiting for a random selection result. H-1B registrations for similar roles are subject to an oversubscribed lottery each March. For an Australian professional with a confirmed offer, the E-3 is a direct and predictable path where the H-1B is not.
Can I change employers or get promoted while on an E-3 in a Market Development Manager role?
You can change employers, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA and you must obtain a new E-3 visa stamp before or after the transition depending on your circumstances. Promotions within the same employer that change your job title or duties materially may also require an amended LCA. Internal moves to a substantially different role are treated similarly to a new position for E-3 purposes.
