Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship in Marketing And Advertising
Frame your portfolio for U.S. specialty occupation standards
Your E-3 visa application requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation. Structure your portfolio and resume to show degree-level marketing expertise, not just campaign results. Titles like 'Marketing Coordinator' can be harder to approve than 'Brand Strategist' or 'Digital Marketing Manager.'
Target employers with existing LCA filing history
Search DOL's public disclosure data to identify agencies, tech companies, and consumer brands that have filed Labor Condition Applications for marketing roles before. Prior LCA filings signal that HR and legal teams already understand the E-3 sponsorship process.
Use Migrate Mate to run your E-3 application end-to-end
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork. The LCA must be DOL-certified before your consulate appointment, and the sequencing matters. Getting this wrong delays your start date.
Clarify sponsorship early in the interview process
Raise E-3 sponsorship before the offer stage, not after. Explain that the employer's cost and paperwork burden is lower than H-1B visa and there's no lottery. Many U.S. marketing hiring managers decline to sponsor simply because they assume the process mirrors H-1B.
Align your degree field with the advertised role
USCIS reviewers assess whether your bachelor's degree directly relates to the specific marketing or advertising function. A degree in business or communications supports most roles, but a graphic design degree may not support a paid media strategy position without additional credentials.
Account for LCA posting requirements before your start date
Your employer must post the certified LCA at the physical or electronic worksite for ten consecutive business days before you begin work. For remote or hybrid marketing roles, confirm with your employer which location applies and build this window into your negotiated start date.
E-3 Visa Marketing And Advertising: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find marketing and advertising jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Search Migrate Mate to filter marketing and advertising roles by employers open to E-3 sponsorship. Most general job boards don't surface sponsorship willingness, so you can spend weeks applying to roles where the employer won't support a visa. Migrate Mate surfaces positions where E-3 sponsorship is already part of the hiring conversation.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Do marketing and advertising roles qualify as specialty occupations for the E-3?
Most do, but the job title and duties matter. Roles like digital marketing manager, brand strategist, media planner, and marketing analyst typically qualify because they require a relevant bachelor's degree as a standard entry requirement. Generic titles like 'marketing assistant' or roles that accept any degree field are harder to approve and may draw a Request for Evidence from USCIS.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Australian marketing professionals?
The E-3 has no lottery, no annual cap, and can be filed any time of year. The H-1B has an annual cap of 65,000 slots plus 20,000 for U.S. master's degree holders, and requires winning a lottery before you can even file a petition. For Australians in marketing, the E-3 is a direct path to sponsorship that doesn't depend on a random draw.
Can I change marketing employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes. The E-3 is employer-specific, so your new employer must file a new LCA and you'll need to attend a consulate appointment to get a new visa stamp reflecting the change. You can start with the new employer once the LCA is certified and your visa appointment is complete. There's no portability provision like H-1B's, so plan the transition timeline carefully.
