Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Marketing Writer
Frame your portfolio for U.S. specialty occupation
USCIS requires your Marketing Writer role to demand a specific bachelor's degree, not just any degree. Organize your portfolio samples by strategic function, brand voice, content strategy, campaign copy, to show the work requires specialized marketing knowledge, not general writing ability.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search DOL's LCA disclosure data for companies that have previously filed Labor Condition Applications for marketing or content roles. Past filings signal an employer already understands the E-3 visa process and won't treat your sponsorship request as an obstacle.
Clarify your degree equivalency before applying
An Australian three-year bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 purposes. If your qualification is a graduate certificate or advanced diploma, get a credential evaluation done before you reach the offer stage to avoid delays.
Use Migrate Mate to handle your LCA and filing
Your employer must file a certified LCA with DOL before your consulate appointment can proceed. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage the LCA submission, DS-160 preparation, and consulate documentation so neither you nor your employer stalls at the paperwork stage.
Negotiate the job offer before sponsorship conversations
Get the role title, duties, and degree requirements confirmed in writing before raising E-3 sponsorship. A job description that vaguely lists 'strong communication skills' won't support a specialty occupation determination, make sure the offer explicitly ties the role to your marketing or communications degree.
Prepare for consulate questions about your writing scope
Consular officers sometimes probe whether a Marketing Writer role genuinely requires a degree or could be filled by a non-specialist. Bring a detailed duty summary, examples of strategic deliverables, and evidence that your employer requires a relevant degree for all candidates in this position.
E-3 Visa Marketing Writer: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Marketing Writer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Marketing Writer roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. Standard job boards don't filter by visa type, so you waste time applying to roles where sponsorship was never on the table. Migrate Mate surfaces positions relevant to Australian professionals and the E-3 pathway specifically.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Marketing Writer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as marketing, communications, journalism, or English. If the job description accepts any degree or lists the degree as preferred rather than required, the specialty occupation standard may not be met. Your employer's offer letter and internal job requirements need to reflect a genuine degree requirement tied to the role's core duties.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Marketing Writers?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but it has a significant structural advantage: there is no lottery. H-1B visa selection is random, and most applicants are not chosen. The E-3 has an annual allocation of 10,500 visas that has never been exhausted, so a qualified Marketing Writer with a valid job offer can apply at any time of year without waiting for a registration window.
Can my employer sponsor me for an E-3 if they have never done it before?
Yes. Unlike PERM-based green card processes, the E-3 does not require employers to run a lengthy recruitment test or prove no qualified U.S. workers are available. The employer files an LCA with DOL certifying the offered wage meets prevailing wage levels, then supports your consulate application. Many first-time sponsors complete the process without prior immigration experience when guided through each step.
