E-3 Visa Security Sales Engineer Jobs
Security Sales Engineer roles qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring a relevant bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Australian nationals can secure two-year renewable E-3 status without competing in the H-1B lottery, making this one of the most direct paths to U.S. cybersecurity sales careers.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Security Sales Engineer
Map your degree to the role
Consular officers assess whether your degree field directly supports the Security Sales Engineer title. A degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or information security maps cleanly. A general business degree typically won't hold up without supplementary technical credentials on record.
Target enterprise security vendors first
Companies selling firewall, SIEM, or endpoint detection products to large enterprises file E-3 visa LCAs routinely. Search the DOL's Labor Condition Application disclosure data to identify employers with active filings in security-adjacent job codes before sending applications.
Get your technical certifications documented early
CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, or vendor-specific certifications strengthen the specialty occupation argument at your consulate interview. Assemble official certificates and transcripts before you receive an offer so you're not scrambling during the LCA window.
Negotiate LCA filing into your offer timeline
Your employer must obtain a certified LCA from the DOL before your consulate appointment can proceed. Build at least two to three weeks of LCA processing time into your start-date negotiation so the filing doesn't delay your visa interview booking.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA submission, visa application documents, and consulate preparation. This reduces back-and-forth with your employer's HR team and keeps the filing on a predictable timeline.
Prepare for dual-intent questions at the consulate
Security Sales Engineers often receive offers from companies that also sponsor green cards. Practice explaining your nonimmigrant intent clearly. The E-3 requires demonstrating you intend to return to Australia when your status ends, even if future permanent residency is possible.
E-3 Visa Security Sales Engineer: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Security Sales Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles that support E-3 sponsorship. Because the E-3 is exclusively Australian, most general job boards don't filter for it. Migrate Mate lets you search Security Sales Engineer openings by employers with active E-3 filing history, so you're targeting companies already familiar with the process rather than educating every recruiter from scratch.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Security Sales Engineer role qualify as a specialty occupation under the E-3?
Yes, in most cases. The role must require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field as a minimum entry requirement. Security Sales Engineers who blend deep technical knowledge of network security, cloud architecture, or endpoint protection with solution selling typically satisfy this standard. Roles where the technical component is thin and a general business background suffices can draw scrutiny, so your job description and degree field alignment both matter.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Security Sales Engineers?
The E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been exhausted, so there is no lottery and no random selection risk. The H-1B subjects most applicants to a cap lottery with a roughly 25 percent selection rate in recent years. For an Australian Security Sales Engineer, the E-3 means you can pursue a U.S. role on a predictable timeline, with your employer filing an LCA and you attending a consulate interview, without waiting to see if your number comes up.
Can I change employers or take a new Security Sales Engineer role while on E-3 status?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need to return to a U.S. consulate in Australia or apply for a change of employer before you start the new role. There is no E-3 portability equivalent to the H-1B's AC21 rule, so plan your transition timeline to include LCA certification and, if required, a new consulate appointment before your start date.
