Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Material Handler
Align your degree to the role
Material Handler roles must qualify as specialty occupations under E-3 rules, so your degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or operations management needs to match the job duties your employer describes in the LCA.
Target distribution and manufacturing employers directly
Large distribution centers, automotive manufacturers, and aerospace contractors routinely file LCAs for materials roles. Search DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway to confirm which employers have previously certified LCAs for Material Handler or Materials Coordinator positions.
Request a specialty occupation job description
Ask your prospective employer to draft a job description that emphasizes degree-specific duties, such as inventory analysis, process optimization, or ERP system management. A generic lifting-and-sorting description will not satisfy the E-3 specialty occupation requirement at your consular interview.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
Once you have a signed offer letter, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork. LCA certification through DOL is required before you can apply at the consulate, and errors in the prevailing wage classification are a common delay point for materials roles.
Search for E-3 sponsorship on Migrate Mate
Finding Material Handler jobs with confirmed E-3 sponsorship cuts your search time significantly. Migrate Mate filters roles by employers with active E-3 sponsorship history so you're not cold-pitching companies unfamiliar with Australian visa requirements.
Prepare for dual-intent questions at the consulate
The E-3 is a nonimmigrant visa, so consular officers will probe your ties to Australia. Bring evidence of property, financial accounts, or family connections at home alongside your Australian passport, certified LCA, and offer letter to the interview.

Find Material Handler JobsMaterial Handler E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Material Handler jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Material Handler roles with confirmed E-3 sponsorship. The platform surfaces employers who have previously filed LCAs for materials and logistics roles, so you avoid spending time on companies that have never sponsored an Australian worker. Filter by role and location to find active openings.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Material Handler role actually qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
It depends on how the role is scoped. A general warehouse floor position typically does not qualify because it doesn't require a specific bachelor's degree. Roles titled Materials Coordinator, Inventory Analyst, or Supply Chain Analyst that require a degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or a related field usually do qualify. The job description your employer submits with the LCA is what the consular officer evaluates, so the framing matters as much as the actual duties.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Australian Material Handler candidates?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens but has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply any time of year with a qualifying job offer. The H-1B has an 85,000-slot annual cap and a random lottery, meaning most applicants aren't selected even with a valid offer. For an Australian professional with a qualifying materials role, the E-3 is a far more reliable path and can be approved before your start date rather than waiting for an October 1 lottery result.
Can I change Material Handler employers once I'm in the U.S. on an E-3?
Yes, but you need to restart the process with the new employer. Your current E-3 is tied to the LCA your original employer filed, so the new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need to either apply for a new E-3 at an Australian consulate or, in some cases, change status from within the U.S. Plan for a gap between your last day with the old employer and your start date with the new one to allow LCA processing time.
