Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Medical Assistant
Verify your credentials translate correctly
U.S. employers assess Australian healthcare qualifications differently by state. Confirm your clinical training hours and any relevant certifications meet the specific requirements of the state where you'll be working before you apply.
Target healthcare networks with LCA history
Hospital systems, multi-site medical groups, and federally qualified health centers file Labor Condition Applications routinely. Searching DOL's public LCA disclosure data by job title helps you identify employers already familiar with E-3 paperwork.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA step
The LCA must be certified by DOL before your visa appointment. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so your employer doesn't need to coordinate this independently or hire outside counsel.
Get your DS-160 right for clinical roles
Consular officers sometimes ask follow-up questions about patient contact and occupational exposure for healthcare applicants. Prepare a brief, accurate summary of your clinical duties so your DS-160 answers and interview responses are consistent.
Request an employer E-Verify enrollment check
Some healthcare employers, particularly those with federal contracts, are required to use E-Verify. Confirming enrollment status before your start date prevents onboarding delays that can affect your I-94 start date and E-3 status timeline.

Find Medical Assistant JobsMedical Assistant E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Medical Assistant jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search Medical Assistant roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. Standard job boards don't filter by visa type, so you spend significant time screening out roles that won't work. Migrate Mate surfaces positions matched to E-3 eligibility so you're only engaging with relevant opportunities from the start.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Medical Assistant role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is defined. The E-3 requires a specialty occupation, meaning the position normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Medical Assistant roles tied to clinical coordination, healthcare administration, or allied health degrees can qualify, but purely administrative or entry-level clinical support positions without a degree requirement may not pass USCIS review.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Medical Assistant roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian nationals but has no lottery, no annual cap, and can be renewed indefinitely. The H-1B has an 85,000-slot annual cap with a randomized lottery, meaning most applicants aren't selected regardless of qualifications. For Australians in Medical Assistant roles, the E-3 is a significantly more reliable path to U.S. employment than attempting the H-1B.
Can my E-3 employer change between LCA filing and my visa appointment?
No. The LCA is filed by a specific employer for a specific worksite and job title. If you change employers after the LCA is certified but before your consulate appointment, the original LCA is void. Your new employer must file a fresh LCA, and you'll need to reschedule your visa appointment once the new certification is issued.
