Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Nursing Technician
Verify your credential equivalency before applying
Australian nursing qualifications must map to a U.S. bachelor's-level standard for E-3 eligibility. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved service before approaching employers so you can confirm specialty occupation status upfront.
Target hospitals with active E-Verify enrollment
Employers who are already enrolled in E-Verify have cleared a key compliance hurdle and are more familiar with work authorization requirements. Ask directly during the offer stage whether the facility has sponsored non-citizen clinical staff before.
Clarify the LCA wage tier with your hiring manager
DOL requires your offered wage to meet the prevailing wage for Nursing Technician roles in that specific metro area. Confirm which wage level applies before accepting an offer, since a mismatch delays LCA certification and pushes back your start date.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end support
From LCA submission to consulate appointment preparation, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages each step so nothing slips between your offer letter and your first day on the floor. This matters most for first-time E-3 applicants unfamiliar with the DOL process.
Address dual-intent limitations early with your employer
The E-3 is a nonimmigrant visa, and consular officers will probe your intent to return to Australia. Brief your employer on this distinction so they don't inadvertently include green card pathway language in your offer documentation.
Time your consulate appointment around unit staffing cycles
Hospital hiring managers often need a confirmed start date before finalising your contract. Schedule your consulate appointment in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth as soon as your LCA is certified so you can provide that date without losing the offer.

Find Nursing Technician JobsNursing Technician E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Nursing Technician jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search Nursing Technician roles filtered specifically by E-3 visa sponsorship, so you're only seeing employers who have indicated willingness to sponsor Australian nationals. This saves time compared to applying broadly and discovering sponsorship barriers late in the process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Nursing Technician role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the position is defined by the employer. If the job description requires a bachelor's degree or higher in nursing, health sciences, or a directly related clinical field, it meets the specialty occupation standard. Roles that accept any degree, or substitute years of experience without a degree requirement, may not qualify. Request the formal job description before the employer files the LCA.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Nursing Technician roles?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and no cap on available visas, which means Australian nationals can apply year-round without competing in a random selection process. The H-1B cap is 85,000 per fiscal year and requires lottery registration. For a Nursing Technician who qualifies under both, the E-3 is a faster and more predictable route to starting work in the U.S.
Can I change hospitals while on an E-3 as a Nursing Technician?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if you travel internationally before starting at the new facility. Your current E-3 status is tied to your existing employer's petition, so leaving that role without a new petition in place means you're out of status. Plan the transition timeline carefully with both facilities.
