Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Physical Therapy Technician
Verify your Australian degree qualifies
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree in physiotherapy, exercise science, or a related allied health field is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 specialty occupation purposes. Get a credential evaluation from a USCIS-recognized agency before approaching employers.
Target rehab networks with LCA filing history
Large outpatient rehab chains, hospital systems, and university medical centers file Labor Condition Applications regularly. Search DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify which employers have sponsored allied health roles, then concentrate your applications there.
Clarify the specialty occupation requirement upfront
Some Physical Therapy Technician job postings list a degree as preferred rather than required. That distinction matters for E-3 eligibility. Before investing time in an application, confirm the role formally requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field, not just any degree.
Ask employers about LCA timing before accepting an offer
Your employer must file and receive a certified LCA from DOL before you can attend your consulate appointment. That certification typically takes seven business days, but the employer needs to post the notice and complete paperwork first. Factor this into your start-date negotiation.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
Once you have a job offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This is especially useful if your employer has never sponsored an E-3 before and needs guidance on the DOL and consulate steps.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions at the consulate
E-3 is a nonimmigrant visa, so consular officers will probe your ties to Australia. Bring documentation of ongoing connections, such as property ownership, family, or professional registration with AHPRA, to demonstrate you intend to return after your authorized period.

Find Physical Therapy Technician JobsPhysical Therapy Technician E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Physical Therapy Technician jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Physical Therapy Technician roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. Standard job boards don't filter by visa type, so you can waste significant time on roles where sponsorship was never an option. Migrate Mate surfaces positions specifically matched to E-3 eligibility for Australian professionals.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Physical Therapy Technician role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
It qualifies when the employer requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as physiotherapy, kinesiology, or exercise science as a minimum condition of employment. If the position accepts any degree or treats the degree as a preference rather than a requirement, it may not meet the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies to E-3 petitions. The job description wording is critical.
Is the E-3 visa a better option than H-1B for this role?
For Australian physical therapy technicians, the E-3 is significantly more practical. The H-1B requires winning a lottery with roughly a 25 to 30 percent selection rate, and you can only enter once per year. The E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been exhausted, no lottery, and can be renewed in two-year increments indefinitely, giving you and your employer far more predictability.
Can I switch employers while working in the U.S. on an E-3?
Yes, but you can't simply transfer the visa. Each new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp, which typically requires returning to Australia for a consulate appointment unless you're changing status from within the U.S. Plan the transition carefully so your authorization doesn't lapse between roles.
