Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship in Radiologic Technologist
Get your ARRT credentials evaluated early
U.S. employers require ARRT certification or eligibility before extending a job offer. Start the credential evaluation process before you apply so you can confirm your Australian qualifications translate to ARRT primary pathway eligibility and avoid delays at the offer stage.
Target imaging centers over general job boards
Hospital radiology departments and outpatient imaging networks file LCAs regularly for E-3 candidates. Search DOL's FLAG portal to identify facilities with recent E-3 LCA filings for radiologic technologist positions and focus your outreach on those employers first.
Clarify your modality specialization in applications
CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, and interventional radiology each have distinct staffing shortages in different U.S. markets. Lead with your primary modality in every application so hiring managers can match you to open requisitions faster and confirm the role qualifies as a specialty occupation under E-3.
Confirm the employer will file your LCA before accepting
E-3 sponsorship requires the employer to file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before your consulate appointment. Ask specifically whether their HR team has filed an LCA for an E-3 candidate before, since the process differs from H-1B visa and some teams need guidance.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
Once you have a job offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the LCA submission, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment paperwork end-to-end, reducing the administrative load on both you and your new employer.
Schedule your consulate appointment around your start date
E-3 consulate appointments in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth currently book out several weeks. Coordinate your target start date with your employer before locking in an appointment slot so your visa stamp window aligns with your first day.
E-3 Visa Radiologic Technologist: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Radiologic Technologist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Radiologic Technologist roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. Because many imaging employers don't advertise visa sponsorship explicitly, filtering for employers with a history of E-3 or LCA filings for radiology positions significantly narrows your search to the most productive targets.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Radiologic Technologist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, radiologic technologist positions qualify when the role requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in radiologic technology, medical imaging, or a closely related field. Roles that accept any degree regardless of field, or that list a degree as preferred rather than required, may not meet the specialty occupation threshold. Your job offer letter and the employer's LCA submission must both reflect a specific degree requirement.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Radiologic Technologists?
The E-3 is substantially more accessible for Australian radiologic technologists. There is no annual lottery, the 10,500 annual allocation has never been exhausted, and you can apply directly at a U.S. consulate in Australia without waiting for a USCIS petition approval. The H-1B requires lottery selection before any petition is filed, and the wait can be years. Both visas require a qualifying specialty occupation and an employer-filed LCA.
Can I transfer my Australian radiologic qualifications for U.S. licensure?
Australian radiologic technologist qualifications don't automatically transfer to U.S. licensure. You'll need to apply for ARRT certification eligibility by submitting your academic transcripts and clinical hours for review. Some Australian programs align well with ARRT primary pathway requirements, but gaps in clinical hours or specific competencies may require additional documentation. State licensure requirements vary and must be met separately from ARRT certification.
