Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Power Apps Developer
Verify your degree aligns with the role
Your Australian bachelor's degree must match the specialty occupation on your LCA. A degree in computer science or information systems directly supports a Power Apps Developer title. A general business degree may not, even if you've been building Power Apps for years.
Target employers already filing LCAs
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for employers who have filed LCAs for Power Apps or Power Platform roles. These employers have already worked through E-3 sponsorship before and are far less likely to stall on paperwork.
Frame your Power Platform certifications clearly
Microsoft PL-900, PL-200, and PL-400 certifications signal specialty occupation to both hiring managers and consular officers. Include them prominently on your resume and in your visa support letter, as they substantiate the degree-level requirement for the role.
Clarify E-3 mechanics before your offer stage
Many U.S. employers confuse the E-3 with the H-1B lottery. When you reach the offer stage, explain that E-3 requires no lottery entry, no USCIS petition, and can be processed directly at a consulate in Australia, typically within weeks of receiving a certified LCA.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your paperwork
Once you have a job offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA filing with the DOL and prepare your full consulate package. This avoids the common mistake of submitting an LCA with mismatched wage levels or job duties that don't match your offer letter.
Understand that your E-3 status ties to one employer
Your E-3 is employer-specific. If you change roles or move to a different company, your new employer must file a fresh LCA before you can legally start work. Line up your new LCA timing with your last day to avoid any gap in work authorization.

Find Power Apps Developer JobsPower Apps Developer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Power Apps Developer jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Power Apps Developer roles filtered specifically for E-3 visa sponsorship. Most general job boards don't distinguish between H-1B and E-3 sponsorship, so you'll waste time on listings that only apply to lottery-eligible candidates. Migrate Mate surfaces roles from employers who are open to sponsoring Australian nationals directly.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Power Apps Developer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. Power Apps Developer roles qualify as specialty occupations because they typically require a theoretical and practical application of computer science, information systems, or software engineering. The key is that your job duties and your degree field must correspond. A role that's primarily about configuring forms with no underlying technical complexity may face closer scrutiny from a consular officer, so your offer letter should clearly describe the technical scope of the work.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Australian Power Apps Developers?
The E-3 is substantially more practical for Australians. The H-1B requires entering a random lottery capped at 85,000 slots per year, with selection odds that have dropped significantly over the past decade. The E-3 has a separate annual allocation of 10,500 visas that has never been exhausted, requires no lottery, and can be processed at an Australian consulate in a matter of weeks rather than months. For a Power Apps Developer with a qualifying degree, the E-3 is the more direct route.
Can I switch Power Apps Developer employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but you can't start work until your new employer has a certified LCA and you've obtained a new E-3 visa or, in some cases, an amended status. Unlike the H-1B portability rules, there's no grace period that lets you begin work while a new petition is pending. Plan the timing carefully with your new employer so the LCA is filed well before your intended start date.
