Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Procurement Specialist
Translate your credentials for U.S. employers
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 visa purposes. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before interviews so employers don't flag your qualifications as a concern.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway for employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for procurement or supply chain roles. Prior filings signal the employer already understands the E-3 process and won't treat sponsorship as an obstacle.
Frame sponsorship as low-cost during negotiation
The E-3 has no lottery, no cap risk, and a government filing fee well under $500. When employers raise sponsorship concerns, address the cost and timeline directly. Most procurement hiring managers don't know how different E-3 is from H-1B visa.
Verify your role qualifies as specialty occupation
Not every procurement title qualifies. Positions requiring generalist business skills without a specific degree field can be challenged. Confirm your job description specifies a bachelor's in supply chain, business administration, or a directly related discipline before your employer files.
Start the LCA before your offer expires
The DOL must certify your Labor Condition Application before any visa paperwork can proceed. Build at least two weeks for LCA certification into your start-date timeline. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so nothing stalls at this stage.
Prepare for consulate questions on procurement duties
Consular officers assess whether your role genuinely requires a specialized degree. Bring documentation showing your specific sourcing, contract management, or strategic procurement responsibilities. Generic job offer letters without detailed duty descriptions create unnecessary friction at the interview.
E-3 Visa Procurement Specialist: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Procurement Specialist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Procurement Specialist roles where employers have confirmed E-3 sponsorship willingness. Filtering for E-3-specific opportunities removes the friction of approaching employers who have no experience with Australian visa sponsorship. Most general job boards don't distinguish E-3 from H-1B, which wastes time on companies that assume sponsorship is lottery-dependent.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Procurement Specialist role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as supply chain management, business administration, or a related discipline. Roles where any general degree suffices can be harder to defend. The job description needs to tie the degree requirement to the core duties, not treat the degree as a preferred credential.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Procurement Specialist positions?
The E-3 has no lottery, no annual cap, and can be renewed indefinitely in two-year increments. H-1B selection runs at roughly 25 percent in recent years, meaning most applicants aren't selected regardless of qualifications. For Australian procurement professionals, the E-3 is a direct path that doesn't depend on luck or waiting years for a cap slot.
Can I change procurement employers after starting on an E-3?
Yes, but you need a fresh E-3 for each new employer. Your current visa is tied to the sponsoring company's LCA. When changing roles, your new employer files a new LCA and you either update your status if you're already in the U.S. or attend a new consulate appointment. There's no portability mechanism the way some other visa categories allow.
