Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Product Director
Frame your degree for specialty occupation
Consular officers assess whether your degree field directly supports the Product Director role. A business or computer science degree strengthens your case; a general arts degree may require documented evidence linking your coursework to product management responsibilities.
Target companies with existing LCA filing history
Employers who have certified Labor Condition Applications through DOL's FLAG system for senior product roles already understand E-3 mechanics. Search OFLC disclosure data for job titles like 'Director of Product Management' to identify those employers before you apply.
Address E-3 during offer negotiation, not after
The LCA certification process sits entirely with your employer and must complete before your consulate appointment. Raise sponsorship requirements at the verbal offer stage so your hiring manager can engage HR and legal without delaying your start date.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end preparation
LCA filing, DS-160 completion, and consulate preparation each have sequencing requirements that are easy to misorder. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage the full process from offer acceptance through your Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth appointment.
Prepare a specialty occupation letter for your role
Product Director sits in a gray zone where officers sometimes question whether the role genuinely requires a specific degree field. Ask your employer to prepare a detailed job duties letter connecting each core responsibility to degree-level knowledge in product, business, or engineering.
Clarify your E-3 status before taking contractor work
Some U.S. companies want to engage Australian product leaders as independent contractors first. E-3 status requires an employer-employee relationship with a U.S. entity, so contractor arrangements won't satisfy USCIS requirements and won't support a valid visa application.

Find Product Director JobsProduct Director E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Product Director jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Product Director roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. Standard job searches rarely filter by visa type, so you end up applying blindly. Migrate Mate surfaces roles matched to E-3 eligibility, saving you from pitching the visa process to employers who won't engage.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Product Director role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as business, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline. The key is that the degree must be a genuine prerequisite, not simply preferred. Roles where any degree field is accepted, or where extensive experience substitutes entirely for a degree, are harder to defend at the consulate.
How does E-3 compare to H-1B for Australian Product Directors?
E-3 is significantly more practical for Australians at the Product Director level. There's no lottery, no annual cap, and the process runs through the consulate in Australia rather than USCIS, so you can move from signed offer to visa stamp in four to eight weeks. H-1B requires lottery selection in April, a six-month wait, and a U.S.-based change of status process with far more filing complexity.
Can I change employers after starting work on an E-3?
Yes, but you'll need a new LCA certified by DOL and a new visa stamp tied to the new employer before you begin work there. E-3 status is employer-specific, so you can't simply transfer it. If you're already in the U.S., you can remain during a brief transition, but you must not start work with the new employer until the new visa documentation is in place.
