Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Production Engineering Manager
Align your credentials to U.S. specialty occupation standards
Your Australian engineering degree needs to map directly to the Production Engineering Manager role's requirements. A three-year bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree, but confirm your transcript reflects a field-specific qualification, not a general science degree.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway disclosure data for employers who have previously filed Labor Condition Applications for engineering manager roles. Prior LCA activity signals the hiring team already understands the E-3 visa sponsorship process and won't treat it as an unknown risk.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsoring employers
Finding production engineering roles with genuine E-3 sponsorship willingness is faster when you search a platform built for it. Use Migrate Mate to surface employers actively hiring Australian professionals and filter by roles that match your engineering management background.
Clarify your role qualifies before accepting an offer
Not every Production Engineering Manager title qualifies as a specialty occupation. Before signing, confirm the job description explicitly requires a bachelor's degree in a specific engineering discipline. Roles where any degree satisfies the requirement can fail the DOL's specialty occupation test.
Have your employer file the LCA before your start date
The LCA must be certified by the DOL before your consulate appointment can proceed. USCIS requires it as part of the E-3 application packet. Build at least two to three weeks of DOL processing time into your timeline between offer acceptance and your target start date.
Streamline your filing with Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service
Production Engineering Manager applications involve coordinating the LCA, DS-160, and consulate scheduling simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage the entire process from offer letter to consulate appointment, reducing the chance of documentation errors that delay your visa.
E-3 Visa Production Engineering Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Production Engineering Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. You can filter by job title and see employers with a history of sponsoring Australian candidates. Generic job boards rarely surface E-3-specific sponsorship information, which makes a targeted search tool essential for this visa category.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Production Engineering Manager role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific engineering discipline such as industrial, mechanical, manufacturing, or process engineering. The qualification requirement must be a genuine minimum, not a preference. If the job description accepts any degree field or substitutes experience freely for education, the specialty occupation standard may not be met, and the E-3 application could be denied.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Production Engineering Manager roles?
The E-3 is significantly more predictable for Australian professionals. There is no lottery, no annual cap to worry about, and the application goes directly to a U.S. consulate in Australia rather than through a USCIS petition queue. H-1B visa selection is random and capped at 85,000 per fiscal year. For a qualified Production Engineering Manager with an Australian employer willing to file an LCA, the E-3 is the faster and more reliable path.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Production Engineering Manager?
You can change employers, but the E-3 does not transfer automatically. Your new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL, and you will typically need to attend a new consulate appointment in Australia to obtain a visa stamp reflecting the new employer. You cannot simply present your existing E-3 stamp to start work for a different company, so factor consulate wait times into your transition planning.
