E-3 Visa Technical Solutions Consultant Jobs
Technical Solutions Consultant roles sit squarely within the E-3 visa's specialty occupation definition, requiring a bachelor's degree in a technical or business field and a confirmed U.S. job offer. Australian professionals can secure E-3 sponsorship without competing in the H-1B lottery, making this one of the more direct paths to U.S. employment in pre-sales and solutions engineering.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Technical Solutions Consultant
Frame your degree equivalency before applying
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees qualify under E-3 visa specialty occupation rules, but your employer's counsel may not know this. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator so you can hand it to HR immediately.
Target companies with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for employers who have filed LCAs for 'Solutions Consultant' or 'Technical Consultant' SOC codes. These companies already understand the process and won't need convincing.
Separate the visa conversation from the offer conversation
Bring up E-3 sponsorship after you have verbal interest, not during your first interview. Framing it as a straightforward two-week employer step, rather than a complex immigration matter, prevents premature rejections from nervous hiring managers.
Clarify your billable client model with the employer
Solutions Consultants placed at third-party client sites can create LCA complications around worksite location. Confirm whether your employer needs to file separate LCA amendments for each client location or list multiple worksites upfront.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your LCA and paperwork
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage the DOL Labor Condition Application, DS-160, and consulate preparation. This removes the filing burden from your employer's HR team and reduces the chance of avoidable delays.
Book your consulate appointment before your start date locks in
E-3 consulate wait times at Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth fluctuate. If your employer sets a firm start date, check appointment availability on the U.S. Visa Scheduling portal immediately after your LCA certifies, not as a final step.
E-3 Visa Technical Solutions Consultant: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Technical Solutions Consultant jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Technical Solutions Consultant roles from U.S. employers who have active E-3 sponsorship history, so you can filter by visa type rather than cold-applying and asking HR about sponsorship afterward. Search by role title and location, then apply directly to companies who already understand the E-3 process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Technical Solutions Consultant role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3 visa?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical or business discipline, such as computer science, engineering, or information systems. Roles that accept any degree field, or where a degree is listed as preferred rather than required, can fail the specialty occupation test. Review the actual job description carefully before accepting an offer.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Technical Solutions Consultant roles?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply at any time of year and receive a decision without random selection. H-1B registrations for this role type compete in a pool of hundreds of thousands of applicants with roughly a 25 percent selection rate. The E-3 requires Australian citizenship, but for those who qualify, it's a far more predictable path to the same outcome.
Can I switch employers or clients while on an E-3 as a Solutions Consultant?
Changing employers requires your new employer to file a fresh LCA and obtain a new E-3 visa stamp at a consulate, or file a change of status if you're already inside the U.S. You can't simply transfer your existing E-3. If you move between client engagements under the same employer, that typically doesn't require a new visa, but may require an LCA amendment if the primary worksite changes.
