E-3 Visa Program Assistant Jobs
Program Assistant roles qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship when the position requires a relevant bachelor's degree and meets the specialty occupation standard. The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so Australian professionals can apply year-round as soon as they secure a qualifying job offer from a U.S. employer.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Program Assistant
Verify your degree supports the role
Program Assistant positions span nonprofits, universities, and government contractors, and the required degree field varies widely. Confirm your Australian qualification directly aligns with the program area, not just with administration generally, before targeting specific employers.
Search for employers with LCA filing history
Employers who have previously certified Labor Condition Applications with the DOL already understand the E-3 process. Targeting organisations with this history shortens your sponsorship conversation and reduces the risk of a rejection based on unfamiliarity.
Use Migrate Mate to run your job search
Use Migrate Mate to find Program Assistant roles filtered specifically for E-3 visa sponsorship. The platform surfaces employers who have sponsored Australians before, so you're not wasting applications on companies that have never navigated the process.
Brief your employer on LCA timing early
The DOL must certify your employer's LCA before you can attend your consulate appointment. Raise this timeline during the offer stage so your start date accounts for the certification window, which typically runs seven to ten business days.
Prepare a credential equivalency statement
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 purposes. Having a brief written summary of your qualification's credit hours and curriculum ready speeds up the employer's HR and legal review process.
Let Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handle your paperwork
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage your LCA submission, DS-160, and consulate preparation end-to-end. This removes the administrative burden from both you and your employer and keeps the process on track.

Find Program Assistant JobsProgram Assistant E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Program Assistant jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Program Assistant roles filtered for E-3 visa sponsorship. The platform shows employers who have previously sponsored Australian workers, so you can focus your applications on organisations already familiar with the LCA filing and consulate process rather than starting the conversation from scratch.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Program Assistant role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the position is defined. A Program Assistant role qualifies when the employer requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as public policy, social work, international development, or a related discipline. Roles where any degree suffices, or where the position is primarily administrative with no degree requirement, are harder to support. The key is that both the job and your degree need to align in a specific field.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Program Assistant roles?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, which means you can apply at any point in the year after receiving a job offer. The H-1B requires entering a random lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection rate, and unsuccessful registrants must wait until the next fiscal year. For Australian professionals, the E-3 is a far more predictable path to U.S. employment as a Program Assistant.
Can I change Program Assistant employers after my E-3 is approved?
Yes, but you need to start the process fresh with the new employer. The E-3 is employer-specific, so your new organisation must file a new LCA with the DOL and you'll need to attend a new consulate appointment or apply for a change of status if you're already in the U.S. There's no portability provision, unlike some other visa categories.
