Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Community Engagement Coordinator
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree in communications, social work, or public policy satisfies the E-3 specialty occupation requirement. Bring your official transcripts and a credential evaluation from a NACES-member evaluator to confirm equivalency before your first interview.
Target organizations with prior LCA filing history
Nonprofits, university outreach offices, and public health agencies regularly file Labor Condition Applications for coordinator roles. Search the DOL's OFLC disclosure data to identify employers who have sponsored similar positions, then prioritize those in your outreach.
Frame sponsorship as a standard nonprofit hiring step
Many nonprofit hiring managers assume sponsorship requires months and large legal fees. Clarify that the E-3 LCA process typically certifies within seven business days and that employer costs are limited, so the process fits within a standard hiring timeline.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service after accepting an offer
Once you have a written offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This keeps the filing accurate and moves you from accepted offer to consulate appointment without delays from paperwork errors.
Prepare a role-specific specialty occupation letter
Community engagement roles can attract consular scrutiny if the job description reads as generalist. Ask your employer to document the degree requirement in the offer letter and LCA, specifying that the role draws on specialized knowledge in public administration, communications, or a related field.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before your consulate appointment
USCIS requires your employer to be enrolled in E-Verify before you can begin work. Verify enrollment status with your HR contact after the LCA is certified and before you book your Australian consulate appointment to avoid authorization gaps on your start date.

Find Community Engagement Coordinator JobsCommunity Engagement Coordinator E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Community Engagement Coordinator jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. Filter by job title and visa type to surface employers who have filed for similar positions before. Targeting organizations with prior LCA history dramatically reduces the time spent educating hiring managers about the E-3 process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Community Engagement Coordinator role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, when the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as communications, public administration, social work, or nonprofit management. The role must be framed around specialized knowledge rather than general coordination tasks. A well-drafted job description and offer letter that explicitly states the degree requirement are what make the specialty occupation case at the consulate.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Community Engagement Coordinator roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens and has no lottery, no annual cap, and no registration fee. The H-1B is subject to an annual cap of 85,000 slots and a randomized lottery, meaning many qualified applicants are not selected in a given year. For community engagement roles where the employer is willing to sponsor, the E-3 is a far more predictable path than waiting on H-1B lottery results.
Can I switch Community Engagement Coordinator employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but you need a new LCA and a new visa stamp for each employer change. You can begin working for a new employer once the new LCA is certified and a valid E-3 visa reflecting that employer is in place. If your current visa stamp has not expired, some consulates allow a renewal interview rather than a full new application, which can shorten the turnaround.
