Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Sales Manager
Align your degree to the role
Your Australian bachelor's degree must map to the Sales Manager position, not just to business broadly. A degree in marketing, commerce, or management is strongest. Three-year Australian degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees.
Target companies with active LCA histories
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for employers who have certified LCAs for sales or business development roles. Prior LCA filings signal an employer already understands the E-3 visa process and won't treat your sponsorship request as a first.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Migrate Mate surfaces Sales Manager roles from employers with E-3 visa sponsorship history, so you're not cold-pitching companies unfamiliar with the process. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once you have an offer.
Frame sponsorship as a low-burden ask
Most U.S. employers don't realize the E-3 requires no lottery and no employer-specific petitions with USCIS. Explaining that the LCA is a DOL filing, not a lengthy USCIS approval process, often removes the main objection to sponsoring an international hire.
Prepare a specialty occupation summary
Sales Manager roles that involve general account management can face scrutiny as a specialty occupation. Document that your role requires applying theoretical and practical knowledge of a specific field, not just sales instinct, before your consulate interview to preempt any officer questions.
Negotiate your start date around LCA timing
The DOL certifies most LCAs within seven business days, but your visa appointment adds consulate wait time. Build at least four to six weeks into your start date negotiation so your employer isn't pressured and the filing isn't rushed.
E-3 Visa Sales Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Sales Manager jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Sales Manager roles from employers who already understand E-3 visa sponsorship. Most general job boards don't filter by visa type or sponsorship willingness, so you often end up cold-applying to companies that haven't sponsored international hires before. Migrate Mate surfaces roles specifically matched to E-3 eligibility.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Sales Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the position is defined. Sales Manager roles requiring a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related discipline typically qualify. Roles framed as general sales leadership without a specific degree requirement are harder to support. Your offer letter and job description should emphasize the analytical, strategic, and field-specific knowledge the role demands, not just revenue targets.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Australian Sales Manager candidates?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, while H-1B visa registrations are randomly selected from a pool that's oversubscribed every year. For an Australian Sales Manager, the E-3 is a far more predictable path. You can apply at any consulate in Australia with a certified LCA and an offer letter, without waiting for a lottery result or a USCIS petition approval.
Can I switch Sales Manager roles or employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL before you start the new role. You'll also need to return to an Australian consulate for a new E-3 visa stamp, or if you're already in the U.S., your new employer's LCA can support a change of status filing. You cannot simply transfer your existing E-3 to a new employer the way some other visa categories allow.
