Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Salesforce Developer
Translate your Salesforce credentials for U.S. hiring managers
Your three-year Australian bachelor's degree satisfies the E-3 visa specialty occupation requirement, but you'll need to frame it explicitly on your resume. Pair it with your Salesforce certifications, Administrator, Platform Developer, or Architect, to make the degree-to-role connection clear to U.S. employers unfamiliar with Australian qualifications.
Target employers already filing LCAs for Salesforce roles
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for certified LCAs listing Salesforce Developer or related SOC codes. Companies with recent LCA filings have already cleared the prevailing wage and specialty occupation hurdles, which means your E-3 conversation starts further along than it would elsewhere.
Find Salesforce Developer jobs with E-3 sponsorship on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters specifically for E-3-eligible Salesforce Developer roles with sponsorship history, so you're not cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with the visa. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once you have an offer in hand.
Clarify the LCA filing timeline before accepting an offer
Your employer must obtain a certified LCA from the DOL before you can schedule your consulate appointment. Standard DOL certification takes around seven business days. Confirm your employer understands this step and has a process owner, HR teams without prior E-3 experience sometimes confuse it with PERM labor certification, which is a separate, far longer process.
Negotiate a Salesforce-specific job title that signals specialty occupation
Vague titles like 'IT Consultant' or 'Business Analyst' can create unnecessary scrutiny at the consulate. A title such as 'Salesforce Platform Developer' or 'Salesforce Solutions Engineer' more directly maps to the specialty occupation definition under E-3 and aligns with the degree requirement you'll be presenting.
Prepare your consulate packet to address Salesforce contract work
If your role involves deploying Salesforce solutions at client sites rather than at the sponsoring employer's premises, bring documentation clarifying the employment relationship. Third-party worksites don't disqualify you, but the consular officer may ask how your day-to-day work is directed, so a clear letter of support from your employer is essential.
E-3 Visa Salesforce Developer: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Salesforce Developer jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It filters Salesforce Developer roles by E-3 sponsorship eligibility, so you're only seeing employers who understand the visa and are open to Australian candidates. Applying through a general job board means manually vetting each employer's sponsorship history, which adds significant time and uncertainty to your search.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Salesforce Developer role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as computer science, information systems, or software engineering. The role must be framed that way in the job description and LCA. A Salesforce Developer role that lists a degree as preferred rather than required can create problems at the consulate, so confirm the job posting language before your employer files.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Salesforce Developers?
The E-3 has a 10,500-visa annual allocation that has never been fully used, so there's no lottery and no waiting for a random selection. The H-1B visa involves a lottery, a single annual filing window each April, and a wait until October 1 for work authorization. For Salesforce Developers who qualify as Australian citizens, the E-3 means you can accept an offer and start work in weeks, not months or years.
Can I switch Salesforce employers after arriving on an E-3?
Yes, but the E-3 is employer-specific, so your new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp. If you're already in the U.S., you don't need to leave the country to change jobs, but you cannot start work for the new employer until the new LCA is certified and your visa reflects the updated sponsorship. Build transition time into your resignation planning to avoid an authorization gap.
