Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer
Translate your AWS or Azure certifications
U.S. employers filing your LCA need to demonstrate your role is a specialty occupation. Certifications like AWS Solutions Architect or CKA strengthen that case alongside your degree, so list them prominently on your resume and in your visa documentation.
Verify your three-year degree qualifies
Australian bachelor's degrees are three years, not four. Most U.S. consular officers accept them as equivalent, but your employer's LCA filing with DOL should document the equivalency explicitly to avoid any request for additional evidence at your interview.
Search employers with active LCA filing history
Use Migrate Mate to filter Senior Cloud Platform Engineer roles by employers who have filed LCAs for this job title before. Prior E-3 or H-1B visa filings signal the employer already understands the sponsorship process and won't stall at the offer stage.
Negotiate your offer before the LCA is filed
The LCA locks in your job title and wage level with DOL before you can apply at the consulate. Raise any title or compensation changes before your employer submits it, because amendments extend your timeline by weeks.
Target companies with existing E-Verify enrollment
Employers must be E-Verify enrolled to use the LCA process correctly. Cloud and tech companies with existing government contracts are routinely enrolled, making them faster sponsors than startups encountering federal hiring requirements for the first time.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for complex setups
If your role spans multiple worksites or involves a third-party client deployment model, the LCA must list each location. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles multi-site LCA filings and consulate prep so nothing falls through the cracks at USCIS or your interview.
E-3 Visa Senior Cloud Platform Engineer: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Senior Cloud Platform Engineer jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point. It surfaces Senior Cloud Platform Engineer roles from employers who have an active history of E-3 and LCA filings, so you're not cold-applying to companies that have never sponsored a visa. Filter by job title and location to find roles where sponsorship is already part of the hiring process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. Cloud platform engineering requires a theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge, typically a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. The DOL's prevailing wage system and USCIS policy both treat software and infrastructure engineering roles as qualifying specialty occupations under the E-3 category.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Senior Cloud Platform Engineers?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply any time of year and start work as soon as your visa is approved. H-1B registrations are capped at 85,000 per year and subject to a random lottery with roughly a one-in-four chance of selection. For an Australian cloud engineer with a qualifying job offer, the E-3 is a direct path where the H-1B is not.
Can I change cloud employers or projects mid-visa on an E-3?
You can change employers, but each new job requires a fresh LCA filed with DOL and a new E-3 approval, either through a new consulate appointment or a change of status petition if you're already in the U.S. You cannot simply transfer your existing E-3 to a new employer. Plan for a two-to-four week LCA processing window before your new role officially begins.
