Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Senior Consultant
Frame your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 visa purposes. Request an official transcript and have it ready to explain the equivalency before your first interview.
Target consulting firms with existing LCA history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify firms that have filed Labor Condition Applications for consultant roles. Prior LCA filings signal an employer already understands the E-3 process and won't stall at the sponsorship stage.
Search E-3 sponsorship jobs on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage your LCA filing and consulate preparation once you have an offer. Migrate Mate handles the paperwork end-to-end, so you and your employer avoid the administrative burden that often derails sponsorship at the last step.
Clarify your degree-to-role alignment before negotiating
Consulting roles attract scrutiny when the offered title is vague. Before accepting an offer, confirm with your employer that the job description explicitly requires a degree in a relevant field, not just a preference, so the LCA and visa application hold up under USCIS review.
Time your offer acceptance around LCA certification windows
DOL certifies most LCA applications within seven business days, but errors or incomplete wage determinations can cause delays. Ask your employer to submit the LCA as soon as your offer is verbal, not after you sign, to avoid gaps in your start date.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions at the consulate
Consulting roles are high-scrutiny at E-3 interviews because officers sometimes question whether project-based or client-facing work constitutes a permanent U.S. position. Bring a signed offer letter, project scope documentation, and your employer's entity registration to demonstrate a bona fide role.
E-3 Visa Senior Consultant: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Senior Consultant jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for roles with E-3 sponsorship. Rather than filtering general job boards and guessing which employers sponsor, Migrate Mate surfaces positions where sponsorship is already confirmed, so you can focus your applications on firms that understand the E-3 process and are prepared to file.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Senior Consultant role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3 visa?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field directly related to the work. Strategy consulting tied to a business or economics degree, technology consulting tied to computer science or engineering, and management consulting with a relevant analytical or finance background all typically qualify. The key is that the job description must treat the degree as a requirement, not a preference.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Senior Consultant roles?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so your employer can file at any time and expect a decision quickly, typically within weeks of your consulate appointment. H-1B requires entering a lottery with roughly a one-in-four chance of selection. For consulting firms that hire mid-year or need a specific start date, the E-3's predictability makes sponsorship a much easier conversation.
Can I change consulting employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but you'll need a new LCA and, in most cases, a new visa stamp from a U.S. consulate before starting with the new firm. USCIS does not offer a portability rule for E-3 holders the way it does for H-1B holders under AC21. Build the time required for your new employer's LCA certification and your consulate appointment into your transition timeline.
