Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 visa purposes. Have your transcripts and credential evaluations ready before outreach, since hiring managers often ask about visa eligibility early.
Target companies with existing LCA filing history
Search DOL's Labor Condition Application disclosure data to identify companies that have filed LCAs for senior marketing or director-level roles. Employers already familiar with the LCA process move faster and raise fewer sponsorship objections.
Position E-3 sponsorship as low-risk for the employer
Unlike H-1B visa, the E-3 has no lottery and no cap backlog, so employers aren't gambling on selection. When negotiating your offer, frame sponsorship as a straightforward LCA filing rather than a complex immigration undertaking.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA and paperwork
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end, including consulate preparation. This removes the filing burden from your new employer and accelerates your start timeline.
Align your job description to specialty occupation criteria
The offer letter and job description must demonstrate that a bachelor's degree in a specific field is a minimum requirement for the role. Vague descriptions like 'degree preferred' can trigger USCIS scrutiny, so work with your employer to tighten the language before filing.
Plan your consulate appointment around your start date
E-3 visas are issued at Australian consulates, and appointment wait times vary across Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. Book your slot as soon as the LCA is certified so delays don't push back your negotiated start date.
E-3 Visa Senior Director Of Product Marketing: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Senior Director of Product Marketing jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals seeking E-3 sponsorship and lets you filter roles by visa type and seniority. Because E-3 sponsorship requires employer participation in the LCA process, targeting companies with a track record of international hiring at the director level significantly improves your chances of a smooth offer and filing process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Senior Director of Product Marketing role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as marketing, business administration, or communications as a baseline requirement. Senior director positions typically satisfy this because the strategic scope of the role, including go-to-market planning and cross-functional leadership, is directly tied to that specialized knowledge. If the job description is written loosely, your employer may need to tighten it before the LCA is filed.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for this role?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so there's no risk of losing your spot through random selection the way H-1B applicants can. For a Senior Director of Product Marketing role, this matters because hiring timelines are tight and employers can't afford a six-month lottery wait. The E-3 also allows you to apply directly at an Australian consulate, bypassing the USCIS petition process entirely if you're coming from outside the U.S.
Can I change employers or get promoted while on an E-3?
Changing employers requires a new LCA and a new E-3 visa, since the visa is tied to a specific employer and role. A promotion within the same company that materially changes your job duties, title, or worksite may also require an amended LCA filing with the DOL. You have a 60-day grace period after employment ends to find a new sponsoring employer or depart the U.S.
