As part of a broader team, you collaborate with other technical program managers to ensure that work in your space aligns with work and plans of other teams across BDT and other organizations. You establish mechanisms for inspection and awareness of progress across cross cutting initiatives.
Data drives your “flywheel”. You analyze data to glean insights that drive experimentation. You leverage data such as service telemetry, user feedback, and industry trends to surface opportunities for improvement. You take what’s proven and partner with Amazon organizations to apply and scale it. You define, implement, and monitor metrics that track your progress.
You partner with Amazon’s business orgs to test hypotheses and deploy AI-based solutions to reduce friction and risk of errors in the ways that businesses use data.
You give feedback on narratives, contribute to strategy (e.g., OP1 planning), set goals, discuss weekly business metrics, and more.
You partner with Amazon’s PXT organization to evolve and optimize roles guidelines and org design best practices to align with the way businesses are evolving their practices around getting insights from their data.
You partner with engineering, human resources, legal, documentation, solution architecture, privacy, finance, and more to optimize usage of the Andes data lake for AI-based methodologies.
As an owner, you hold yourself and partners accountable for the highest quality user outcomes.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Technical Sales Manager
Frame your degree against the role
Technical Sales Manager positions must meet the specialty occupation standard, so your degree field matters. An engineering or computer science degree aligns cleanly; a general business degree needs supporting evidence showing direct relevance to the technical domain you'll be selling in.
Target companies with active LCA filings
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify employers who have certified LCAs for sales or technical roles. Prior LCA activity signals that a company already understands the E-3 visa sponsorship process and has internal HR infrastructure to support it.
Position your Australian market experience strategically
U.S. hiring managers often undervalue APAC sales experience. Translate your Australian territory performance into metrics that resonate domestically: pipeline value in USD, comparable enterprise account sizes, and industry segments that map to U.S. verticals your target employer operates in.
Clarify the specialty occupation argument before your offer
Not every Technical Sales Manager role qualifies under the E-3. Roles requiring purely soft skills or general business acumen can fail USCIS scrutiny. Confirm with your prospective employer that the job description explicitly ties the degree requirement to technical complexity, not just preference.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA and consulate paperwork
Once you have an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the DOL LCA certification, DS-160 preparation, and consulate appointment documentation. This removes the coordination burden from your employer and reduces the risk of administrative errors that delay your start date.
Understand the consulate interview timing relative to your start date
E-3 visas are issued at Australian consulates, not through USCIS, so your timeline runs from offer acceptance to consulate appointment availability. Build at least four to six weeks into your start date negotiation to account for appointment scheduling and passport return time.
E-3 Visa Technical Sales Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Technical Sales Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 visa sponsorship. You can filter Technical Sales Manager positions by employers who have demonstrated willingness to sponsor E-3 applicants, which saves you from applying to roles where sponsorship is never on the table to begin with.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Technical Sales Manager roles?
The H-1B visa requires entry in an annual lottery with no guaranteed selection, while the E-3 has a 10,500-per-year cap that has never been fully utilized, meaning qualified Australian applicants can apply any time of year without waiting. Both require specialty occupation classification, but the E-3 moves directly to consular processing rather than through USCIS petition review.
Does a Technical Sales Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3 purposes?
It depends on how the role is defined. If the position requires applying technical knowledge from a specific discipline, such as software engineering, biomedical science, or electrical systems, and the employer's job description reflects that requirement, it generally meets the standard. Roles where any business graduate could perform the function without domain-specific training are more vulnerable to challenge.
Can I switch employers while on an E-3 as a Technical Sales Manager?
Yes, but you need a new LCA certified by the DOL and a new E-3 visa issued for the incoming employer before you start work. Unlike some visa types, E-3 status is employer-specific, so you can't carry your existing authorization to a new company. Most people handle this by scheduling a consulate appointment in Australia or at a U.S. consulate abroad during the transition.
