The Role
Play a pivotal role leading external reporting and technical accounting for Beast Industries; owning the company's financial statements, technical accounting positions, and a disclosure-ready reporting framework. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Director of External Reporting & Technical Accounting will own the preparation of external financial statements and related disclosures end-to-end, own technical accounting positions across all business units, and serve as a primary technical interface with external auditors. This role will lead a strong in-house team, direct external co-source support, and build a reporting calendar, disclosure controls, and tie-out discipline. The ideal candidate is a technically expert, hands-on leader with a builder mentality and exceptional written communication skills.
- Own the preparation of external financial statements, footnotes, and related disclosures, building toward a recurring filing cadence
- Own technical accounting positions across the group, including segment reporting, EPS, stock-based compensation (ASC 718), revenue recognition (ASC 606), and business combinations (ASC 805)
- Research, evaluate, and document complex, non-standard transactions in clear, auditable technical memos
- Build and maintain the external reporting calendar, disclosure controls and procedures, and the supporting tie-out process
- Monitor, assess, and lead the adoption of new accounting standards, and own the company's accounting policy library
- Direct external co-source workstreams for drafting and technical memos, transitioning capabilities in-house over time
- Serve as a primary technical point of contact for external auditors and support audit committee reporting
- Manage, mentor, and develop the technical accounting and external reporting team
- Partner with FP&A, Legal, and equity administration on reporting inputs, KPIs, and narrative disclosures
What You'll Bring
- 15+ years of progressive experience with deep ownership of external reporting and technical accounting; a mix of Big 4 public accounting and issuer reporting experience is highly desirable
- CPA required
- Expert-level US GAAP knowledge and command of SEC reporting requirements, including Regulation S-X and S-K
- Experience preparing a company for public company reporting or supporting a registration statement is strongly preferred
- A track record owning complex technical positions in multi-business-unit organizations
- Experience with disclosure controls and internal controls over financial reporting
- A hands-on, player-coach leadership style, capable of both executing detailed work and developing a team
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in technical memo drafting
- A builder mentality and comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Compensation
The target total compensation ranges from $246,000 – $282,000 including a fixed annual salary of $205,000 – $235,000, an employee equity plan grant, bonus, plus comprehensive benefits. Equity grants are issued in good faith, subject to company policies, board approval, and individual eligibility.

Translate your CA credentials for U.S. employers
Australian Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA designations aren't automatically recognized by U.S. hiring managers. Clarify the equivalency upfront in your resume and cover letter so employers don't confuse your qualifications with a U.S. CPA license requirement.
Target employers with SEC reporting obligations
U.S. public companies, foreign private issuers filing 20-F forms, and large private-equity-backed firms need dedicated financial reporting headcount. These employers have in-house legal or HR teams already familiar with E-3 visa sponsorship, reducing friction during the offer stage.
Search E-3 sponsorship roles using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Senior Financial Reporting Accountant roles by employers with active E-3 or H-1B visa sponsorship history. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service also manages the entire process from LCA submission through your consulate appointment.
Confirm the LCA wage level before accepting an offer
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application certifying your offered salary meets the DOL prevailing wage for the role and location. Ask HR to confirm the wage level designation before you sign, since Level I and Level II wages for senior roles can vary significantly by metro area.
Prepare IFRS-to-GAAP translation examples for interviews
U.S. financial reporting roles operate under U.S. GAAP, not IFRS. Prepare two or three concrete examples of how you've applied or bridged both standards. Interviewers at multinational employers value this fluency and it reinforces the specialty nature of the role for E-3 purposes.
Get your visa stamped before your start date
Unlike H-1B, the E-3 is always processed at a U.S. consulate in Australia. There's no change-of-status option if you're currently abroad. Book your consulate appointment immediately after your employer's LCA is certified to avoid delaying your start date.
E-3 Visa Senior Financial Reporting Accountant: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Senior Financial Reporting Accountant jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search for Senior Financial Reporting Accountant roles filtered by employers with E-3 or H-1B sponsorship history. Not every employer advertising the role will proactively mention visa sponsorship, so filtering by actual filing history is more reliable than relying on job descriptions alone.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. Senior Financial Reporting Accountant roles consistently qualify as specialty occupations under E-3 requirements because they require at minimum a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field. The role's direct ties to technical accounting standards, SEC filings, or external audit coordination reinforce the specialty occupation argument. Roles that only require a generic business degree may face more scrutiny, so the job description should specify the accounting or finance degree requirement.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Senior Financial Reporting Accountants?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has no annual lottery, no cap on approvals, and no registration fee. H-1B applicants enter a randomized lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection rate each year. For a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant with Australian citizenship, the E-3 is a faster and more predictable path. Both visas require employer sponsorship, a certified LCA, and proof the role meets specialty occupation standards.
Can I switch employers while on an E-3 as a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant?
Yes, but you can't simply transfer the visa. Your new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need to apply for a new E-3 at a U.S. consulate in Australia before starting work. There's no portability provision like the one available under H-1B after 180 days. Plan your timeline to allow four to eight weeks between offer acceptance and your consulate appointment.
