Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship in Senior IT Architect
Frame your Australian credentials for U.S. evaluators
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 visa purposes, but document the equivalency explicitly in your resume and any credential evaluation letter before applying to U.S. roles.
Target enterprises with active LCA filing histories
Search the DOL's OFLC disclosure database for employers who have filed LCAs for IT Architect or related titles. Companies with recent filings already understand the process and won't need educating on E-3 sponsorship at the offer stage.
Clarify the specialty occupation link in your application
E-3 approval depends on your role qualifying as a specialty occupation. For Senior IT Architect positions, your application materials should tie the specific duties directly to a relevant degree field, since broad architecture roles can attract USCIS scrutiny when responsibilities overlap with general management.
Raise E-3 sponsorship after a verbal offer, not before
Bringing up visa sponsorship too early in the hiring process can stall interviews before the employer sees your value. Once you have a verbal offer, explain that E-3 sponsorship involves an LCA filing with DOL and a consulate appointment, with no lottery and no cap risk for the employer.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA and paperwork
After your employer agrees to sponsor, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle the LCA, DS-160, and consulate preparation end-to-end. This avoids the coordination delays that happen when employers attempt to manage the process themselves for the first time.
Verify your employer's E-Verify status before the offer stage
If your E-3 role shifts to STEM-adjacent work and you later seek an extension or status change, working for an E-Verify enrolled employer becomes relevant. Confirm enrollment status with HR during due diligence rather than after signing.
E-3 Visa Senior IT Architect: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Senior IT Architect jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Senior IT Architect roles from employers with E-3 sponsorship history, so you can filter directly for companies already familiar with the LCA process. Searching general job boards often surfaces roles where the employer has no experience with E-3 sponsorship and may decline to sponsor once the visa requirement becomes clear.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Senior IT Architect role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3?
Yes, in most cases. Senior IT Architect positions typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related engineering field, which satisfies the specialty occupation standard. The key is that the job description must make the degree requirement explicit, not just preferred. Roles where general management duties dominate over technical architecture work can attract additional scrutiny from USCIS during consular review.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Senior IT Architect roles?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and no numerical cap, which means your employer can file at any time and you don't face the uncertainty of a March registration cycle. H-1B visa petitions for IT Architect roles compete in a lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection rate. E-3 visas are valid for two years with unlimited renewals, and the LCA filing process is substantially simpler than an H-1B petition, which reduces employer reluctance to sponsor.
Can I switch employers on an E-3 while working as a Senior IT Architect in the U.S.?
Yes, but you need a new LCA and a new visa stamp tied to the new employer before starting work. Unlike H-1B portability rules, E-3 status doesn't allow you to begin working for a new employer on the strength of a pending petition. Plan for a consulate appointment or, in some cases, a change of status filing, and build that timeline into your job transition plan before your current role ends.
