Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Solution Manager
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. hiring
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 visa specialty occupation purposes. Obtain a credential evaluation letter before you apply so hiring managers and HR can confirm degree equivalency without delaying the offer.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Solution Manager roles sit at the intersection of business and technology, and not every employer has filed an LCA before. Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data for companies that have sponsored similar business solutions or technology management roles to find genuinely sponsorship-ready teams.
Frame your role as a specialty occupation upfront
E-3 approval depends on the role requiring a specific bachelor's degree, not just any degree. When discussing the position with hiring managers, confirm the job description references a field like business administration, information systems, or computer science rather than leaving the degree requirement vague.
Clarify the LCA filing timeline with your employer
The LCA must be certified by DOL before your consulate appointment, typically within seven working days of submission. Ask your employer or their HR team to confirm they can file immediately after you sign the offer, so your interview slot isn't delayed by an administrative backlog.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to streamline your application
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This removes the coordination burden from your new employer and ensures your consulate documents are prepared correctly before your appointment.
Request written confirmation of your role classification
Before your visa interview, ask your employer to provide a detailed offer letter that explicitly states your job title, duties, and the required degree field. Consular officers assess specialty occupation eligibility on the spot, and vague job descriptions are a common reason for additional questioning.
E-3 Visa Solution Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Solution Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. Filter by job title and location to surface employers who are already familiar with the E-3 process. This saves time compared to cold-applying and then explaining the visa from scratch to every recruiter you speak with.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Solution Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific related field such as business administration, information systems, or computer science. The key test is whether the degree requirement is tied to the role, not just listed as a general preference. Roles where any degree satisfies the requirement can face scrutiny during the consular interview, so the job description wording matters.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Solution Manager roles?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply at any time of year once you have a job offer. H-1B visa registrations are capped at 85,000 per year with a lottery that runs once annually in March, meaning many qualified candidates aren't selected at all. For Australian professionals, the E-3 provides a direct and predictable path that the H-1B simply can't match.
Can I change employers or projects while on an E-3 as a Solution Manager?
You can change employers, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if you travel internationally before the change takes effect. Changing employers while remaining in the U.S. and maintaining valid status is possible without leaving the country, but the new LCA must be in place before you start your new role.
