Frame your degree for specialty occupation
Staffing Coordinator roles must meet the DOL's specialty occupation standard, so document how your Australian HR or business degree directly underpins the role's analytical and compliance functions, not just its administrative ones.
Target employers with active LCA history
Search DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for employers who have filed LCAs for HR Coordinator or Staffing Specialist roles. These companies have already cleared the internal approvals that first-time sponsors haven't.
Clarify sponsorship readiness before final interviews
Ask directly whether the employer has a U.S. immigration counsel relationship or HR team familiar with LCA filings. Many mid-size staffing firms want to hire but stall at the paperwork stage because no one internally owns the process.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and paperwork
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This is where offers fall through for Staffing Coordinator candidates whose employers underestimate the DOL certification timeline.
Get your Australian credentials assessed early
If your bachelor's degree is a three-year Australian qualification, prepare a credential equivalency statement before you start interviewing. U.S. consular officers regularly question whether a three-year degree meets the four-year equivalency standard.
Negotiate your start date around LCA certification
The DOL targets seven business days for LCA certification, but delays happen. Build at least two to three weeks of buffer into your proposed start date so a slow certification doesn't put you in breach of your offer letter.
E-3 Visa Staffing Coordinator: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Staffing Coordinator jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. Rather than filtering through generic job boards, Migrate Mate surfaces Staffing Coordinator positions from employers with documented visa filing history, so you're not wasting applications on companies that have never sponsored an E-3.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Staffing Coordinator role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is defined. A Staffing Coordinator position that requires applying HR theory, employment law compliance, or workforce planning methodology tied to a specific degree field can qualify. Roles framed as purely administrative or clerical, where any bachelor's degree satisfies the requirement regardless of field, are harder to support. The job description and internal title matter more than the industry.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Staffing Coordinator roles?
The E-3 has a significant practical advantage for this role: no lottery. H-1B visa applicants for Staffing Coordinator positions face the same 85,000-slot cap and random selection as engineers and software developers, meaning a qualified candidate can be locked out for years. E-3 status is available year-round, renewable indefinitely, and the annual 10,500-visa allocation has never been exhausted.
Can I switch Staffing Coordinator employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but you need a new LCA certified by the DOL and updated visa documentation before starting with the new employer. There is no portability provision like the one that exists under H-1B. If you're changing employers while inside the U.S., your new employer must complete the LCA process before your first day, not after.
