Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Support Associate
Match your degree to the role
Support Associate positions qualify as specialty occupations only when the employer requires a specific bachelor's degree, not just any degree. Review the job description carefully before applying and confirm the stated educational requirement aligns with your Australian qualification.
Target employers with LCA filing history
U.S. employers must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before sponsoring your E-3. Search DOL's public disclosure data to identify companies that have previously filed LCAs for support or customer success roles, signaling established sponsorship processes.
Address visa status in early conversations
Many hiring managers conflate E-3 sponsorship with H-1B lottery complexity. Clarify upfront that the E-3 requires no lottery, no quota competition, and typically takes two to four weeks from offer to consulate approval, which simplifies the employer's decision significantly.
Prepare a credential equivalency statement
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 purposes, but your employer's attorney may request documentation. Have a one-page summary of your degree, transcript, and relevant work history ready before the offer stage.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your paperwork
Once you have an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles your LCA submission, visa paperwork, and consulate appointment preparation end-to-end, reducing the administrative burden on both you and your new employer and cutting weeks off the process.
Negotiate your start date around consulate timelines
E-3 consulate appointments at Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth vary in wait time depending on the month. Build at least four to six weeks into your proposed start date after receiving your offer to account for LCA certification and interview scheduling.

Find Support Associate JobsSupport Associate E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Support Associate jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles that include E-3 visa sponsorship. Rather than filtering through general job boards where sponsorship status is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces Support Associate positions from employers who have demonstrated willingness to sponsor E-3 visas, saving you the back-and-forth of asking each company directly.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Support Associate role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the employer defines the position. A Support Associate role qualifies when the employer requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as communications, business administration, or information systems, as a minimum condition of employment. Roles where any degree or no degree is acceptable generally do not meet the specialty occupation standard. Review the job description closely and confirm the degree requirement is stated as mandatory before accepting an offer.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Support Associate roles?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been fully used, so there is no lottery and no quota risk. The H-1B has an annual cap of 65,000 general slots, plus 20,000 for advanced degree holders, with selection by lottery when registrations exceed the cap. For a Support Associate role where the position qualifies under both visas, the E-3 removes lottery uncertainty entirely and typically reaches a consulate decision within weeks of filing.
Can I change employers or get promoted while on an E-3 as a Support Associate?
Yes, but both changes require action before they take effect. Changing employers means your new company must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp unless you're adjusting status inside the U.S. A significant promotion that materially changes your job duties or title may also require an amended LCA to reflect the updated role, so confirm the scope of any change with your employer's HR or legal team before it becomes official.
