Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Technical Services Manager
Align your credentials to U.S. specialty occupation standards
Get your Australian bachelor's degree assessed for U.S. equivalency before you start applying. A three-year Australian engineering or IT degree is generally accepted, but having a credential evaluation ready removes a common employer objection during screening.
Target employers with existing LCA filing history
Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data for companies that have previously filed Labor Condition Applications for technical management roles. Employers who've sponsored before understand the process and won't treat your E-3 visa as an experiment.
Reframe sponsorship as a two-to-three week process
Many hiring managers assume visa sponsorship takes months. For E-3, the DOL certifies LCAs within seven business days and there's no lottery or annual cap. Stating this timeline directly in interviews removes the most common reason offers stall.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your LCA and paperwork
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This matters most for Technical Services Manager roles where your employer's HR team may have no prior E-3 experience.
Clarify your management scope in the DS-160 and LCA
Consular officers scrutinize whether Technical Services Manager roles genuinely require a specific degree rather than general management experience. Make sure your LCA job description ties your technical degree directly to the supervisory and delivery responsibilities of the role.
Negotiate a start date that accounts for consulate scheduling
Australian consulates in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth have varying appointment wait times. Build at least three to four weeks of lead time into your agreed start date so your employer isn't caught expecting you on-site before your visa stamp arrives.
E-3 Visa Technical Services Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Technical Services Manager jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces U.S. Technical Services Manager roles where employers have a history of E-3 or work visa sponsorship, so you're not cold-applying to companies that will decline the moment you mention visa requirements. Filter by role and location to find verified sponsoring employers.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Technical Services Manager role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field such as engineering, computer science, or information systems. The key is that the degree requirement must be tied to the job's technical functions, not just management experience. A role where any bachelor's degree qualifies, regardless of field, is harder to support under E-3 specialty occupation rules.
How does the E-3 compare to H-1B for Technical Services Manager roles?
The E-3 is significantly more practical for this role. There's no lottery, no annual cap, and no waiting for an October start date. Your employer files an LCA with the DOL, which certifies within seven business days, and you attend a consulate interview in Australia. H-1B visa requires surviving a random lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection rate before any of that happens.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Technical Services Manager?
Yes, but you need a new LCA and a new E-3 visa tied to the new employer before you start working for them. Unlike some other visa categories, E-3 status isn't portable between employers on the existing approval. You'll need your new employer to file a fresh LCA with the DOL, then return to an Australian consulate for a new visa stamp before beginning work.
