E-3 Visa Technology Project Manager Jobs
Technology Project Manager roles qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring a relevant bachelor's degree, think IT, computer science, or engineering. The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so once you have a job offer, your sponsorship timeline depends on the employer's LCA filing speed, not luck.

BDT owns, develops, and operates Andes, one of the largest data lakes in the world, storing 3+ exabytes of data, read/written to by 100k+ data pipelines, with >60k monthly active users. To do this, we need extraordinary individuals to build the next generation of data analytics, machine learning, and AI solutions for thousands of scientists, engineers, and analysts who rely upon us to get their jobs done.

As part of a broader team, you collaborate with other technical program managers to ensure that work in your space aligns with work and plans of other teams across BDT and other organizations. You establish mechanisms for inspection and awareness of progress across cross cutting initiatives.
Data drives your “flywheel”. You analyze data to glean insights that drive experimentation. You leverage data such as service telemetry, user feedback, and industry trends to surface opportunities for improvement. You take what’s proven and partner with Amazon organizations to apply and scale it. You define, implement, and monitor metrics that track your progress.
You partner with Amazon’s business orgs to test hypotheses and deploy AI-based solutions to reduce friction and risk of errors in the ways that businesses use data.
You give feedback on narratives, contribute to strategy (e.g., OP1 planning), set goals, discuss weekly business metrics, and more.
You partner with Amazon’s PXT organization to evolve and optimize roles guidelines and org design best practices to align with the way businesses are evolving their practices around getting insights from their data.
You partner with engineering, human resources, legal, documentation, solution architecture, privacy, finance, and more to optimize usage of the Andes data lake for AI-based methodologies.
As an owner, you hold yourself and partners accountable for the highest quality user outcomes.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Technology Project Manager
Frame your credentials around specialty occupation
Your Australian three-year bachelor's degree in IT, engineering, or a related field is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree. Make sure your resume explicitly connects your degree field to the Technical Project Manager responsibilities in the role description.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data for companies that have filed LCAs for project management and technical program roles. Employers with recent filings already understand the E-3 visa process, which shortens your sponsorship timeline considerably.
Clarify the specialty occupation case before signing
Not every Project Manager role qualifies. Positions requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field pass the specialty occupation test; generalist PM roles where any degree suffices often don't. Ask recruiters for the job description's stated degree requirement before accepting an offer.
Get your LCA and visa paperwork handled correctly
The LCA must be certified by DOL before your consulate appointment, and errors delay everything. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so the employer's obligations and your documentation are filed without gaps.
Negotiate consulate appointment timing into your start date
E-3 visas are issued at Australian consulates, not through USCIS. Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth have different appointment wait times. Build at least four to six weeks between your signed offer and your proposed start date to account for appointment availability and processing.
Prepare a dual-role approval narrative for the interview
Consular officers sometimes question whether a Project Manager role meets specialty occupation standards. Bring documentation showing the technical complexity of your projects, your degree's direct relevance, and that the employer's job description explicitly requires a technical bachelor's degree.
E-3 Visa Technology Project Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Technology Project Manager jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. You can filter by job title and see which employers have active LCA filing history, so you're targeting companies already familiar with the E-3 process rather than educating every recruiter from scratch.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Technology Project Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is defined. A Technology Project Manager position that requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering typically qualifies. Generalist PM roles where any bachelor's degree is acceptable may not meet the specialty occupation standard. The job description's stated degree requirement is the key factor USCIS and consular officers examine.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Technology Project Manager roles?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply as soon as you have a job offer and a certified LCA. H-1B visa requires entering a random lottery held once per year, with a roughly one-in-four selection rate. For Australian nationals, the E-3 is a direct, repeatable path that doesn't depend on timing or chance.
Can I switch employers or change roles while on an E-3?
Yes, but each new position requires a new LCA filing and, if you're outside the U.S., a new visa stamp. If you're already in the U.S., you can start working for the new employer once the new LCA is certified and the employer has filed the supporting documentation, without waiting for a new visa stamp unless you travel internationally.
