Translate your Australian sales credentials precisely
U.S. hiring managers may not recognize Australian degree structures. Clarify that your three-year Australian bachelor's degree meets the E-3 visa specialty occupation requirement and frame territory management experience in terms of U.S. regional quota structures.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search DOL's public Labor Condition Application disclosure data to identify companies that have sponsored sales and account management roles before. Prior LCA activity signals a finance and HR team that already understands the E-3 process.
Request sponsorship before the offer stage closes
Raise E-3 visa sponsorship during the final-round conversation, not after the offer letter is drafted. Employers unfamiliar with the E-3 often assume visa sponsorship means H-1B lottery risk, so correcting that assumption early prevents offers from being withdrawn.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your LCA
The Labor Condition Application must be DOL-certified before your consulate appointment. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so nothing stalls between offer acceptance and your interview date.
Align your start date with consulate processing windows
Australian consulates typically schedule E-3 interviews within two to four weeks, but passport return adds another two to five business days. Factor this into your start date negotiation so your employer isn't left holding a vacant territory.
Confirm your role meets specialty occupation criteria
Not every Territory Account Manager role qualifies. USCIS requires that the position normally demands a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Roles listed as requiring only general sales experience or any degree may draw scrutiny at the consulate.
E-3 Visa Territory Account Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Territory Account Manager jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. Because the E-3 is exclusive to Australians and far simpler than H-1B sponsorship, many employers are open to it once they understand the process. Filtering by E-3 eligibility lets you focus on companies already set up to sponsor.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Territory Account Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3 purposes?
It depends on how the role is written. USCIS considers a position a specialty occupation when it normally requires a bachelor's degree in a specific discipline, such as business, marketing, or communications. Territory Account Manager roles tied to technical products, enterprise software, or regulated industries tend to qualify more cleanly than generalist sales roles.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Territory Account Manager roles?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so there's no random selection risk. You can apply directly at a U.S. consulate in Australia after your employer files an LCA with DOL, and processing typically takes a few weeks rather than months. H-1B requires a lottery entry in March, with work authorization starting no earlier than October 1, creating a six-plus month gap that most sales employers find impractical.
Can I change territory or employer on an E-3 without losing my visa status?
You can change employers, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL before you begin work. There's no formal portability provision for E-3 holders the way AC21 applies to H-1B holders, so the timing matters. If you're already in the U.S., you can start with the new employer once the LCA is certified and a new E-3 is approved or you've restamped at a consulate.
