E-3 Visa UX Designer Jobs
UX Designer roles qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field. The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so Australian professionals can secure sponsorship and start work as soon as their employer files the Labor Condition Application.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a UX Designer
Translate your portfolio for U.S. hiring managers
U.S. employers assess UX portfolios differently than Australian ones. Frame case studies around measurable outcomes, conversion rates, task completion, accessibility scores, and include the research methods you used. Managers screening for E-3 visa sponsorship need to justify a specialty occupation to DOL.
Target companies with active LCA filing history
Search DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to find employers who have filed LCAs for UX or design roles. Prior LCA filings signal that a company understands E-3 sponsorship and won't stall when you raise it.
Raise E-3 sponsorship before the offer stage
Bring up E-3 sponsorship during the second or third interview round, not at the offer. Australian-only eligibility and no lottery requirement make the ask far less daunting than H-1B visa. Employers who hesitate usually don't understand that the LCA is employer-filed and relatively fast.
Use Migrate Mate to manage your LCA and filing
Once you have a verbal offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork. Your employer avoids the complexity of DOL submissions, and you get a dedicated expert managing timelines from prevailing wage to consulate appointment.
Verify your degree maps to the specialty occupation standard
USCIS requires your degree to be directly related to the UX Designer role. A degree in graphic design or information systems typically qualifies. A general business degree usually doesn't, even with years of UX experience. Clarify this before your employer starts the LCA.
Confirm your employer meets E-Verify requirements
Some employers, particularly federal contractors and companies in certain states, are legally required to use E-Verify. Ask HR before your start date whether the company is enrolled. Working without E-Verify compliance where it's mandated can affect your I-9 and status.
E-3 Visa UX Designer: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find UX Designer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles that support E-3 sponsorship. Unlike general job boards, it filters for employers with E-3 and LCA filing history in design and UX disciplines, so you're not cold-applying to companies that have never navigated Australian visa sponsorship before.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a UX Designer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, UX Designer qualifies as a specialty occupation when the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as human-computer interaction, interaction design, or computer science. The degree-to-role connection is the key test. Roles where any degree is acceptable, regardless of field, typically don't meet the standard.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for UX Designers?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, which means you don't wait for a random selection event to start working. H-1B petitions are capped at 85,000 per year and require lottery selection, which most applicants don't clear on the first attempt. For Australian UX Designers, E-3 sponsorship is a direct path that can move from offer to consulate appointment within weeks.
Can I switch UX Designer jobs while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA and you need a new E-3 visa stamp before re-entering the U.S., or a change of status if you're already inside the country. There's no grace period rule that automatically covers you between roles. Start the new employer's LCA process before your last day if possible.
