EHS Manager Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ehs manager in Minnesota?
Most ehs managers in Minnesota start with a bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or engineering, then build several years of field experience in compliance, industrial hygiene, or safety coordination. Minnesota does not require a state-issued license specific to this role, but employers consistently prioritize candidates who hold the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential administered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, which signals both competency and professional commitment.
Which companies hire ehs managers in Minnesota?
Companies currently hiring ehs managers in Minnesota include Veolia, Balchem, and Amazon, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Minnesota's dense concentration of Fortune 500 manufacturers, food and agriculture companies, and large healthcare systems means ehs manager demand stays consistent across multiple sectors year-round.
Which Minnesota cities have the most ehs manager jobs?
Ramsey, Mankato, and Marshall account for the highest concentration of ehs manager openings in Minnesota. The Twin Cities anchor demand through their manufacturing corridors, corporate headquarters, and sprawling healthcare networks, while Rochester's openings are driven heavily by Mayo Clinic and its affiliated facilities, and Duluth draws roles from port operations, energy, and regional industrial employers.
Are there remote ehs manager jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, but they're rare. EHS manager work is fundamentally site-based, requiring physical walkthroughs, equipment inspections, and in-person incident response that cannot be done remotely. About 0% of ehs manager openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those roles tend to be corporate-level compliance advisory or multi-site program management positions rather than facility-based safety roles.
How can I get hired as a ehs manager in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an EHS coordinator or safety technician role, which large Minnesota manufacturers like 3M and Cargill regularly post as stepping-stone positions that feed into manager-track pipelines. Internship programs at Minnesota's large medical device and food production companies provide structured exposure to real compliance environments. Pursuing an associate-level safety certification and volunteering on workplace safety committees strengthens a thin resume while building the site-specific knowledge Minnesota employers expect at the manager level.
Where can I find and apply to ehs manager jobs in Minnesota?
You can find and apply to ehs manager jobs in Minnesota on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, industry background, and preferred location within Minnesota, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
